Thanks for an excellent time guys, that was my first wing ding and it was great to put faces to names and meet some genuinely very friendly people.
I will most certainly be attending other wing dings and although i was on my own i didn't feel at all out of place.
Geordie muppet, Tanygaer, welsh winger, Manx Black Cat & Papajoe to name just a few all helped me feel at home in a community where i have to admit i wasn't quite sure what to expect
Many thanks to all
Darren - The Gatekeeper
PS - nice to see pics of my bike on the site too (coutesy of MBC i think )

Ah there's nothing like true love.
who's that handsome chap in the back ground? I have seen him some where before, I remember it was in the mirror this morning while shaving.

It was Tanygaer's motherly nature that did it er I mean
Going to be some competition between Zoe and Tanygaer in Welsh Wales for the Mothering competition

Now Papajoe, you are only trying to get Redwing jelous, I can see it now, his face will be as red as his Honda 50.
The last time Redwing got jelous over Zoe, he hid the shaving brush and cream

That would be the Royal Britsh Legion Riders branch, of which both GM and I are members as are one or two others from the site like Shrek snr. and Papajoe.
The link to the branch is in mine and GM's signature line.
I am quite heavily involved in their charity efforts for the Legion and is sometimes the reason I am not around on here. Just done another TV related event with them the other day, escorting Hayley Westenra ( top quality New Zealand singer) to the Classic Brit Awards in London. She rode on a trike owned by one of the Riders branch members and alighted on the red carpet, to big press coverage.
If anyone is interested, the RBLR is great fun and for a very worthy cause. Most of us are ex serving British forces of some kind, but it is not obligatory and anyone can join. There are close to a thousand members so far and we get involved in fund raising for the Royal British Legion themselves, supporting the poppy appeal, by showing our bikes and selves on stands around the country, but we also get together in small or large groups to just socialise. We also have members as far afield as Australia and America.
( here is a link to an interview with Hayley Westera, the singer and the guy who accompanied her on the trike, to the Brit awards.....

Now that makes more sense, I will investigate more. I do try to do my bit by selling Poppy's on the Isle of Man.
Did you know that the Isle of Man, contributes more to the poppy appeal per head that any where else in the world.
Mind you, I still think Redwings Blader leek receptical sounds great
