By a strange quirk of regulations, ( don't you just love regulations!!!) we are not allowed to officially collect for the legion in the Riders branch, because we are a National Branch. Considering this we did pretty well to hand over a cheque to Hayley Wetenra, just the other day for £10.000.00 which we didn't collect over the last year
We are only allowed to have home collection boxes at the moment, but the top guys are working on the top brass at head office to get us able to collect. I can only imagine what sort of figure we might raise if we were "armed" with official collection boxes. The interest that the bikes create at events is amazing.
Anyway, that is the last word from me prattling on about the Legion on the Borders Wing Ding thread, so anyone interested please PM me or ring me if you have my numbers.
( Geordiemuppet can be seen sporting the Riders branch gold bullion badge above the ships crest one on his waistcoat, in that now famous picture of unrequented love!!!)

Well I sure know why I am in, since visiting some of our war wounded boys and girls at Headley Court just before Christmas. Very humbling experience indeed.

Just to get the thread back on track before it slips away down the page......
There were 331 inscriptions for the Border Wing Ding which is a pretty excellent turn out. There were no complaints made and pretty much everyone had an excellent time.
The raffle raised £420 for the Region's adopted charity which is the Great North Air Ambulance so well done to all those who bought tickets, even if some of them did go home in chains.
Papajoe made good his promise and bought Christine, Vasco and I a round of drinks. He even behaved himself fairly well too.
Lord and Lady Tanygaer made full use of their spacious and luxurious accomodation.
Welsh Winger spent the weekend perfecting the stirring action on his new 3 speed mixer and Derek Hendry spent the weekend winding Vasco up.
