Large lot, but no meals.  This would eliminate any confusion.  There is also a 'rest area' 5 miles past Emporia on the pike, [coffee drop?].  Then its an hour to Meridan.
For clarification - Maxx Mart sells chicken strips, corn dogs, onion rings, potato wedges etc. They have a fryer on site and make it through out the day. There is a couple tables to sit at inside. The ONLY problem I would mention is they are the most expensive gas from Topeka to Atchison.
Be careful in the lot - it is large but riddled with deep pot holes and broken asphalt.

It is a good meeting place.

Ty knows the food...my wife has liked their stuff [I call it snack food if it's smaller than my head].  Ever hit that speed-bump at the pumps?

Freonrick...sliced the muscle in your arm???  Hope it's not as bad as it sounds.  Hope to see you on the 10th.

Is the 11th an alternative in case of Kansas weather?

Sorry to hear it. Get to feeling better Rick!

Long range forecast shows a few showers possible on Saturday :P clear on Sunday:clapper: both days right about 70. It's only a 30% chance right now.

I need everyone who is going next Saturday to PM me so that I have a list and that we don't leave anyone North or South behind.

I will post a complete list of attendees during the middle of the week. By then, we should have a idea of what the weather will be doing. :cooldevil:

Here is a proposed route for a ride from Atchison, Ks. to Rulo, Ne., back down through Mo. and ending back at Atchison. It is about 120 miles. It is almost all 2 lane roads and can have as many stops as everybody wants.

I have a high quality PDF of the map with directions. It is 2.7 megs.

Well the "honey do's" including cleaning out the garage got completed  (well the most important ones anyway) and the bike had dust all over it from the garage cleaning so Patch, whbondjr, bill's girl, Mrs. Flyone, and myself went for a ride today to blow the dust off. I hope the weather next weekend will be as good as it was today! about 140 miles on the back roads for us. :clapper:

Thanks Patch, whbondjr, and bill's girl for a good run. The dust is officially gone from the bike. :cooldevil:

I will post details of the KANWINGS 1 ride during the middle of the week as I stated before.

rcmatt007 and Beth, I will be calling you as anyone in Oklahoma that wants to come up for the ride, (being this ride will be in NE KS) Mrs. Flyone and I are inviting you to stay at our home overnight if you don't want to ride back to OK late on Saturday. I also am including breakfast on Sunday morning and a nice warm clean garage for your bikes! (Am I tempting anyone??:cooldevil:)

You're sure tempting me, but I don't think I qualify :P

That is a great route John put together - very pretty and well worth the trip up.

Heck, I'd spend the night too if you're offering breakfast.

Of course I don't want to spend too much time over there.  I don't know if my nose can stand too much more damage.  Thanks Keri! ;)

John;  Nice job, a beautiful route.

The weather forecast has changed again [duh] and it's lookin good, so far.

I snuck out & "dusted" my bike for about 60 miles, riding around the lake, last night....after getting some work done.

Hey, I'm man enough to admit that I got my a$$ kicked by an 11 year old girl.

Wait a minute, you mean to tell me this is going out to the whole world?

Uhhh humm uhhh humm No, I didn't get my a$$ kicked by an 11 year old girl, it was by a whole pack of Hells Angles just out lookin for a Goldwing rider to beat up.  It took about 50 of them to get the job done and all I got out of it was a sore nose and that was due to sunburn!!!!

Anyone buying this story???? :baffled:

I know.  I was really hoping that some of you would jump in and help me out but oh well.  I'm glad that I put on a good show for ya all.  Of course I know you were all hesitant to do so when you saw all the brass knuckles and big chains that they were using on me.  No problem.  I bet they won't go looking for another goldwing rider to gang up on.

:weightlifter:

Damn, this story is getting deep.
