Sunday Emporia - high of 61 and partly cloudy with no rain in the forecast.

I better get on the ball and figure out some good roads to ride.:smiler:

Yes you better.............Being in Washington DC all week, I'm getting the shakes not being on the wing for 7 days!

Looks like we are coming with Patch, freonrick, whbondjr and bill's girl.

Where are we meeting at  ????:stumped:

Does the group want me to meet everyone on I-35 at exit 57 (Andover exit) or do you want to meet Keri and I at my house? I don't care.........just call me and let me know!

Patch, by the way...............:birthday:

Like Dorothy says.............."There's no place like home Toto, there's no place like home!"

I am ready to get my A** back home!!! Been on the road too long (without my Wing!):realshocked:

Ok here is what I purpose for a riding route. I found this link http://www.motorcycleroads.us/roads/ks31.html

I will work on a specific route from Emporia to Waverly and post my suggestion later.

I'll talk to my schedule....Meet in Emporia sounds fine....go to Waverly is a start.

Maybe head out to the beautiful, no traffic hills...Alma loop?....that would make an easy way back for Wichita folks.

We know the area inside-out.  Did the loop last weekend.

Sunday weather here says 45* at 9 a.m., 52* by noon & around 60 between 2-5 p.m.  Nice jacket weather.  Perfect.

Let us know.

I'm open to any suggestions but here is what I put together.

Leave Flying J and head for Lebo, KS
Past Lebo to Waverly, KS
Leave Waverly head for Garnett, KS
Leave Garnett head for Burlington, KS

This is listed as a 3 hour ride which puts us in Burlington at about 1:30pm. I picked this route because it ends us on HWY75 and everyone can decide from there where they want to go.

Here is the mapquest link: http://www.mapquest.com/mq/8-9UcZDP71

Below is a quick overview picture. I will be happy to email the route to anyone who would like it.

Hope to see you all there!

Ty

OK, I did some checking. It's only 160 miles from my house to the Flying J. What time do I need to be there?

Well hello Johnmac!

I will be leaving from Valley Falls, KS (about 30 minutes south of Atchison, KS) at about 7:45am. If you would like to we could hook up and ride down together. I'll check later for a reply and I'll send you a PM. We can exchange cell numbers if you're interested in riding down.

Ty

Just got off the phone with Patch, He will be posting a meeting place tomorrow for the Wichita folks and I will join the group at exit 57 (Andover exit). We plan on taking the Turnpike to get up there and then ride wherever coming home afterwards. That will be determined tomorrow.

I arrive back into Wichita around noon and will figure out meeting times to get to Emporia to meet Tybme and others.

Goodbye Washington DC!!! Hello Yellow Brick Road!!! :D

I'm trying to find the Flying J in Emporia, but Mapquest says it doesn't exist....I'll keep looking.

I'm at K-4 & 39th....a few miles outside of Topeka.  The pike is right around the corner from me & I've gone past Emporia a few dozen times.  Wife says it might be too chilly for her?

I'd like to give it a try, though.  I'll probably be somewhere, sometime tomorrow...

whbondjr;

thanks for the directions, i'll try to make it,  i'd sure love to meet everyone.  TV weather channel says 40% chance of a.m. rain....PC weather channel says 2%?   Idiots.

And "both" are NWS.  Morning will tell...driveway will be wet or dry.
