I am considering (with a little help from my friends here) organizing a Kansas meet and ride.
Just testing the waters to see if there is any interest.
I know that my friends in the Southeast (SIERRASJ), The Annual Midwest Meet and Greet, Arkansas Goldwing Meeting, Boscobel Beach Party, and the 1st NASSIR are and/or will be a great success and having a blast riding and meeting new friends!
I am certainley not trying to complete with them but just getting a bunch of "wingers" (and anybody else who wants to ride) to break bread together and have a nice day ride in our area as imitation is the largest form a flattery! (Thanks SIERRASJ)
I am looking to see if this is something people are interested in. I am not limiting this to folks in Kansas or Goldwings. Just a bunch of good folks meeting each and sharing the love of motorcycles.
Thanks to everyone who has invited me to their events as I will be attending NASSIR, the 4th Annual Midwest Meet and Greet, the Arkansas Goldwing Meet and the Boscobel Beach Party this year. This has caused me to think about this for our local area for a while so that we can invite people as well to see scenic Kansas! (OK, OK...........meet new friends then and ride our straight roads!)
I would love to know what you think??

I was really hoping to meet some of you on this fantastic board. I don't get on here very often, or on the internet all that much any more, but I would like a chance to meet and ride with y'all. I have found some great roads just right here in south-central part of the state. So count me in!!

Mighty Max, If you're talking about Patch (The Chris I know) he is with us on this and will help me coordinate as I talked to him this weekend. This will be a seperate ride from the 4th Annual Meet and Greet in Eureka Springs, AR..........This will be meeting up for day rides around Kansas so that everyone can meet each other from the forum and have some local outings as well.
I hope everyone can make it to the 4th Annual Midwest Meet and Greet because we have a blast there too!!
Surrounding states are invited too!!

Was not able to get with ya on the Hobo thing but would like to get together with anyone from here. So, yes I am interested. Even if its a small gettogether those are some of the best. And if it is big then great.

For sure!!! Always interested in getting out for a ride. Check into camping sites also. My wife hates a tent and I love to piss her off every chance I get. Just kidding, she loves the outdoors!!!

Cool! I rode with Chris for a few hours around noon today. We just rode around Wichita.........
It sounds like this is going to be a go at this point. Chris and I will start working on a route and finding some interesting places to see around Kansas and start looking at a date............

You might as well forget about finding interesting places to see in Kansas. There is none.

| If you want a nice curvey, out of the way place to ride that's not too far from Wichita, try taking 95th street South east to Douglas. When you get to Hwy 77, just keep going straight and enjoy the ride all the way to Latham. I think you will be pleasently suprised. Go through Latham to the end of town , and turn right (the only other paved road) go south to HWY 160 and Cambridge. Turn right again and you will be heading toward Winfield. You can take a right at HWY 77 again (main drag in Winfield) and go north back to 95th South. I occasionally take this as an after work "unwinder".

Any Saturdays we have free is Great !! It'd be great to meet our members &/or riders, especially if we can avoid riding through any cities.
We're in Wichita, Andover, Haysville & Derby every other month to visit family. We go to Cassoday & Beaumont regularly on the bike. Looks like most are from these areas.
Anyway you plan it, it'll be 'ride-to-meet' or 'meet-to-ride', depending where you're from.
freonrick: "You might as well forget about finding interesting places to see in Kansas. There is none".
I thought about the same when we lived in Haysville....flat & few trees. I was from MI. Now, we live in the hills & woods by a big river & a huge lake. But, we come down for the company, which is better than scenery.
Have you ever seen the Flint Hills Gateway, toured the roads out by Alma...or [my favorite] gone up the shady Scenic Glacial Byway between the huge bluffs & along the river, etc.?
mana to you Bill.
