Hey Popeye, I just got a black sheepskin before my run to Colo. definitly helped. Also bought an ultimate comfort pad, I think that is what it is called, from Wally world. The two together were just about right.

Thanks to everyone for welcoming me to the forum, I am looking forward to meeting everybody, sounds like a great group.

Here is one that I thought I would throw out to everyone.

If the weather is nice tomorrow (not pouring rain like it is right now) Flyone and I (and possibly whbondjr and bills girl) will be heading up to Olathe to see Cloud9 and drop off a trailer to him.  We are considering on stopping in Paola for some ribs on the way back.  If anyone is interested, we are looking at leaving the Wichita area at around 1 ish.

UPDATE

The trip to Olathe tomorrow is cancelled.  We may still try and take a ride tomorrow evening if anyone wants to get together.

We just got back from the Rockies.  Left with no real plans & ended up in CO & WY.  Saw some beautiful country.  Folks were always asking about my extra trunk :baffled:.  Met a lot of wingers from all over.

At around 11400 ft, I was making snowballs & Sharon made a snowman :snowman:....on Friday June 27.  Overall, it was a BLAST.

Go over some mountains just to find bigger ones waiting.  It was a great 2150 miles or so....saw 2 Moose but, couldn't find a bear.  Sharon was doing 450 miles a day....her idea .  Those mountain miles can be some looooong miles.

Feels good to be home, though.

That hill in the above pic shows no trees...the 'timberline' which is around 11,000 feet or so.....we went higher.  Saw a bunch of rafters in the lower rivers & folks fishing.

In the above pic, Sharon is wearing a hot/cold shirt, a heavy cotton shirt and a jacket....she had her raincoat on too, in the early hours.

Talked to a woman who lived up there & she said they got 4 inches of snow on June 11th + it wasn't unusual.  Less than 90 days of Spring/Summer/Fall combined.....Avalanches take out the roads all the time.  Warning signs along the road + big gates for when they close the main road... quite often.

The high plains got in the 80s, barely, & high temps in the 50s-60s in the mountains.  Roads were winding all the time & top speed was around 45 for short bursts.  The Wing didn't even seem to notice the incline....it just tooled along effortlessly.

Saw lots of snow.   Western KS got near 100* on the way over.  We rode with Wings, HDs, & others...some exiting, others joining.  It was All beautiful !!

This pic shows snow on the ground.
