If a ride is planned for Saturday count me in. I'm not coming up until Friday.

There is also another road that goes with the Dragon, The Cherohala, will we be doing this one also? It's a 120 mile loop.
I may leave a day early so I can be there on Friday.

Yes, Keith it will include that portion as we will take that to get to the Dragon from Calhoun. I have been talking to Cyote61 and the trip will be about 300 miles long with planned stops for fuel for the bikes and us too! :cooldevil:

This will be almost a full day ride..........I'm glad we are doing it on Friday instead of Saturday because of all the traffic!

We'd love to have you!

I thought we were setting up one for Saturday too? That's the day I can do it. I'll get to Calhoun too late on Friday to do that one.

2 reasons I can't guide, I don'y know the Deals Gap area at all and have no way to communicate bike to bike. I don't even know the common hand signals groups use.

Bag, that's perfect!! You should be a guide because you have no bad habits!!! :cooldevil:  No wait a minute........I thought I was talking to somebody else!!! :cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1:

Seriously, you could still do it, Tom and I could give you pointers, a map, and you already know some hand signals (at least your middle finger!) I don't have a CB either.............

What hand signals?  When I lead, no one tells me there's a rock in the middle of the road or a snake sllithering by. :cheeky1:

Start time would be great. We are leaving Illinois sometime Thursday. Need to know how close we need to be in order to make it there Friday am. Just an idea. Could someone that is going to guide this trip print out a map so if other want to go later they can run the same route? We had thought of just waiting and riding the dragon on our way out on Monday. Everything I have heard is to stay away on weekends.

OK, I'm back from Michigan.........Talked to Tom (Cyote61) and he advises kickstands up in Calhoun at 8 am. Tom will give me the route a little later.

I hope this helps! Once I figure it Tom's route because it differs from Mapquest, I will post it! Tom says there is a much better way and being it is in his backyard.............I think I will listen to him!
