Tom (Cyote61) has asked me to lead a ride to Deals Gap (The Tail of the Dragon) during NASSIR in Calhoun, GA.

This ride as previously discussed will be on Friday, September 26. We can have more than one if the interest is there but we need to know how many people are planning to do this as Tom and his helpers are planning many different events for this great meet and greet!

Please vote in the poll so that we can have some type of a halfway accurate count!!!

I will go and help in anyway I can.  Here is a link to the complete loop.   Times at the dragon have changed, a lot of LEO'S now.  Posted speed limit of 40 mph I think.......and on the skyway it is 40/45 depending on if in Tenn or NC........which I think is a good thing......enjoy the ride, the scenery and leave the 75 mph antics to the zoomsplats.  It is a very scenic place and very safe if common sense is used, you do have to watch on some of the blind corners for vehicles across the center line into your lane......you ride this one single file... and hug the outside lane in the corners and enjoy.  :grinner:Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap and Cherohala Skyway, Graham Co, NC

I couldn't agree more with you Kit! :clapper:

That was going to be a major part of the safety briefing! :cooldevil:

This will be a nice slow scenic ride, if someone is looking to break speed records.............this is not the ride for you. :shock:

I want to take time and smell the roses, not see how fast we can pass them to blow the pedals off! :cool:

My goal is for this ride is to be "bee-u-te-ful" and more importantly uneventful. :goofygrin:

2 bulls standing on a hill over looking a herd of heifers, one old, one young. Young bull looks at the old bull and says "Let's run down there and knock off a couple." Old bull looks at young bull and says, "No, let's stroll down there and do them all!"

:cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1:

Me, I'm an old bull!! Built low to the ground and takes it as slow as I can!

Count us in.

Unless something happens between now and then, that will be a "have to" on this meet and greet.

What kinda time is it from Calhoun to Deals Gap. The earlier you hit the Dragon the better.

Crotch rockets like to give the road time to get completely dry. If the timing is right you could do the Skyway and Dragon the same day, but would make for an all day ride if you stop for photos a couple times.

Would like to. What time are you planning on leaving Calhoun. Will be there sometime Friday. But not sure how early we can make it. If we have a time we can try to plan on being there by then.
