I might be willing to do another one. July is much better for weather in the NW, In the Puget Sound area summer really doesn't get started until then. Long Beach, Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, are a couple of nice places to visit. A loop around highway 4 along the Columbia River to Ilwaco and up the coast around the Olympic Loop would be a nice ride if not too long. Lots of possibilities.

Yep, will try to make it if it happens. Hopefully will have my GL1200 back together. If not, will be forced to ride the Valk. Oh gosh, such sacrifices...

I suggested we could use my place as a central spot. I live in rural P.O. and I've got a large yard that can accommodate a number of tents, and if there is no burn ban on, we could have a fire. There is also a state campground that is very nice at Manchester State park, and several others around within easy driving distance. There are a few area hotels/motels too. There are lots of great day rides easily accessible from this area as well. Nothing is even close to being set in stone yet, I just wanted to get the ball rolling. It's been a couple of years since we've had an area meet-n-greet and I didn't want it to go any longer, so I contacted UBarW, since he and Axelwik started the WCWJAMR several years ago. Let us all know when a final date is selected so we can make arrangements. I'd love to have a chance to meet and mingle. A ride would be great, there are a lot of really great rides up here in the NW.

I think we are waiting to see what the nassir dates are, then we'll see what dates work for the most people...

Ya know... Once the Nassir dates are settled, we can talk about dates for the WCWJAMR... The idea is to pick dates that will allow the most people to attend BOTH events...

OK, the NASSIR 3 dates are set, for July 13-15, so it's time to start discussing dates for WCWJAMR. Anyone going to NASSIR from the West coast will need 5-6 days travel time, so we should stay away from the weekends of July 3rd & 4th and 24th & 25 too IMHO. I think anytime mid to late June would work as well as anytime in August. What say you all? John

I'm a "bit player" (if possible) John, so I'd go with whatever you guys decide. Obviously, it is tentatively revolving around what works for you, and presumably, UbarW? Of course, I'm HAPPY to add MY two cents worth! I've been up around Rainier twice, with a nearly 20 year gap- the first time was the first week in June....Brrrr! I remember that I was able to ride the loop counter-clockwise out of Yakima; the pass was a 20' deep tunnel of snow! I don't recall ever actually SEEING Mt. Rainier. It was only 20 years later (in August) that I realized that when you pop over the pass, Mt Rainier is RIGHT there, in front of your face! Or....buried in clouds, if you're goofy enough to show up too early in the season.... So, I'm thinking July 31/August 1, or perhaps even better, August 7/8? I'm planning on a couple of weeks in Europe either the last two in August, or the last of August/first of September. I've gotta justify my one true "money pit", in life! As I say though, I'm a "bit player", so....you guys should do whatever works for you, and if I can possibly attend, then I will! PS- I shoulda said...LATE June is fine for me, if that works better for youse guys....
