Here's one of the original comments about the 4th WCWJAMR.

Jluvs2dive wrote: 83GoldWinger wrote: :waving:Where in Port Orchard?
I suggested we could use my place as a central spot.  I live in rural P.O. and I've got a large yard that can accommodate a number of tents, and if there is no burn ban on, we could have a fire.  There is also a state campground that is very nice at Manchester State park, and several others around within easy driving distance.  There are a few area hotels/motels too.

There are lots of great day rides easily accessible from this area as well.

Nothing is even close to being set in stone yet, I just wanted to get the ball rolling.  It's been a couple of years since we've had an area meet-n-greet and I didn't want it to go any longer, so I contacted UBarW, since he and Axelwik started the WCWJAMR several years ago. :action:

John

I propose we get a poll started to select a date.  We'll ask The Wexmeister to sticky this (thats different than asking him to stick it...:D) so as many people as possible will see it.

The general idea is a quiet little meet and greet. Day rides and night campfires (hopefully).  Simple, uncomplicated, and fun.

This will likely be a fairly unstructured event, ie. no planned dances, ritual sacrifices, dinners, slow ride contests, or mud wrestling.  Just spur of the moment day rides, evening time together, and such.  Just a loose knit, good time.

Pick one!

Well I would pick august 13-15 only for the reason that the first week of August is already tied up with SeaFair. You can check out http://www.seafair.com to see what that is all about.

To answer the original question, here's a link to show you where Port Orchard Washington is-

Howdy Marty, good to see you posting again. :)

Personally I don't give a hoot about Seafair.  That's a big party mess IMHO, and I was done with that many years ago, but if it's an issue for others I'm cool with working around it.:)

Pete, thanks for the link to the map of PO, but just FYI, the question wasn't "where IS Port Orchard", it was "where IN Port Orchard".  The question asker is a local and parks his boat in PO sometimes, so he knows where PO is. ;)  Hopefully we'll have a number of attendee's that will appreciate your map anyway.

John

Sounds good John. Whatever you guys decide on I think I should be there as long is it doesn't get too close to NASSIR3. I'm tentatively thinking of attending that with the truck and camper so we could spend some time touring more of the East Coast afterward.

The NGW run is  at crater lake aug 19-22  and Hot August Nites in Reno  is usually the first week in August so I voted for the later days in August. If I can make one  maybe I can  make both . Not a commitment at this time though. JB

I would like to make the event. Any of the dates proposed would be as good as the others. I should add that I am a maybe at best. I have to get permission first. Does somebody want to write me a note?  Please keep me in the loop.   Thanks

The earlier the better for me. My daughter is getting married in September and my wife is already stressing out over the details. Big, is all I can say. If I'm gone anywhere near September even by a couple of months I might as well stay up there and not come back.

Hi Jluvtodive,
I also hope to be there. Since NY is too far this year.
It would be fun to see more of the Northwest.
Is there a ferry to Friday Harbor from Port Orchard?
Anytime in Aug. works for me.

So who do we address the note too?  The boss at work or the boss at home. ;)

Howdy Gene,

I hope you guys can make it.  It would be great to see you again!

There is no direct route from Port Orchard to the San Juans, unless you own a boat. ;)  The ferries going to the San Juans are out of Anacortes WA and Sidney BC.  Below is the ferry route map.  Southworth is the Port Orchard ferry.
