A1A including the Ferry Ride in Fernandina is pretty cool for a $3 fare!

We stayed at a place called the Alhambra Inn in St. Augustine a few times. Two blocks from all the tourist traps on A1A and it was like $60/night in peak season. Its an old Motel with fresh paint and was clean. Have to check to see if its pet friendly though.

There is route from Jesup to Brunswick that I like to take that adds a few minutes to the 40 mile trip straight down 341 that will get us off of the 4 lane for a bit down some county roads through the woods... and will take us across the Sidney Lanier Bridge(Hwy US 17) in Brunswick down to Florida. Its a little better riding than straight down 301 IMHO.

Sounds like we should put our heads together on options.  Thanks.

Ric, she has already said she will never get back on the bike........she is having a hard time even getting in the car right now. Hopefully she will be able to get past all of this, but it is going to take a while for sure.

That is easy to understand.  I felt that way once myself,  although I knew in the back of my mind that would not likely be the case for me.  Passengers are another matter.

Time is what is needed now.

I hope you two and all of the SERRASJ members as well as all our member friends at SS who celebrate the Thanksgiving we do here, have a wonderful holiday time together.

This one is about family. :waving:

I understand that.  We are coming from North Georgia so it will be a good run for us as well.
Would be nice to meet you and anyone you would like to bring along.

Not yet.  Get with Snorebabe on the date.  Most of us are flexible but Snorey's work schedule is a weird one.

Update, looks like we will be out of here sometime between May and Aug, I should know more as the time gets closer.

If anyones interested, I can check with the misses and see if she'd be willing to let people crash on the spare bed or couch. May help some of you guys that are traveling from the northern areas. If anyone is interested, let me know and we'll go from there.

If the dates work out I would like to ride up from Tampa to meet up with everyone. The sooner I know on the dates the better. (Otherwise the wife will schedule something else that I can't get out of)

Well, well, well.......Snorebaby and I have been watching this thread and the request of a possible meet up with the FL group and Hawggy in March.  As Rudy has posted, Snorey's work schedule is a weird one and there is just no way we can schedule this meet up in March.  Hopefully when we have a date for SERRASJ 7 that those
Floridians' that have shown interest will be able to do a meet up at that point.  Sorry Hawggy, we'd love to see you and Deb again but like last year it's just not in the cards this year.

Rudy , when I mentioned old 17 I have used it a couple times to get off of I-10 .

My trips at the time were hauling recovered stolen cars of mine . I couldnt keep the interstate pace and went to 17 for relief . I am not sure where you all meet to head south . I know at Savannah 17 runs mostly parallel with I-10 . The section I have run seems mostly coastal / tidal plains . I just enjoy the scenerey as compared to wizzing by it all on I-10 .

I am still looking forward to #7!!!

New battery in yesterday... seems the cold caused the old one to give up the ghost!

New forkbrace installed last week. Going to be trying that out shortly as soon as the roads dry off a bit!

New shocks and complete brake overhaul should be completed within the next month.

MAN, I need some seat time.

Between everything thats been going on and the cold... I have put about 50 miles on her this month. I know she feels neglected!(the bike not the copilot)

Since SERRASJ6 and Skidmark and Pinky's wreck the copilot hasn't ridden with me except for going to supper in town one night and then another trip to Brunswick to eat supper. We have still been a little nervous about the shock situation since I relocated the trunk back some.

I'd be happy if everyone just had good tires, fresh valve stems, brakes  and headlight modulators.

I am thinking it's time to get everyone's idea of what date the ride will be.  So folks, post your dates!

Then we can work on Hotel locations/rates.  Enough rooms and we will be able to get discounted group rates if needed.

Ok... I think we are open from March 15 to June 30. :dude:

Need a pet friendly hotel.

Best rates and most variety I have seen is out at the freeway, unfortunately.

I think the one I was looking at had an I-hop inside the hotel.  Can't remember what it was just now.

Looks like Days Inn to me.

And for your pleasure...
