OH yeah, I know red from black and I won't sell my black one, but the red one is always for sale, the ugly piece of junk! :cheeky1:

Sorry, not trying to bitch so much but it ain't fun down here when you got livestock, water lines that ain't never supposed to be used in this kind of weather. I just came in about 30 minutes ago, its 20 and falling, wind chill is around 5. I half frozen to the bone after 4 hours of trying to get damn near every water line to cattle running. We got them all open and running but I have no doubt we'er screwed in the morning again. About evey three hours we have to go down to the lake and  bust a hole in the ice so the cows can drink in that pasture. Its not too fun. No we are not as cold as Kansas, or MO, or even my place in Northern Arkansas, but its stilll pure rotten.

OK, I'm buying the burgers, lets go to steak and shake tomorrow. :D

Darn Tom, didn't you get the memo from Al Gore saying that it's a "warm" cold?  And that if you send him enough money, he can make your internet faster, your water taste better by turning it into a martini, and your cows more enviromentally friendly, and your sex life better.  And he should know, he got one of them thar Nobel Prizes to prove it.:shock::shock:

Roadrunner07 Update ....

A lot of improvement over the last couple of days. :clapper:

She can read large print and beginning to make out some of the smaller print now. She feels much better and is almost back to her old self again.

Again we would like to thank you all very much for all the prayers and well wishes.

A very special thank you to Sharon (Olive Oyl) for staying with her while I am at work.:bowing:

Now, lets get rid of this cold weather, ice, and snow and RIDE:action:

I sure agree with that!!!! It's been a real interesting winter so far out in the sticks! I never realized that snow could drift so deep and swallow a Landrover so well!! I figured as much as the wind blows it would blow it south to Wichita or Popeye's driveway! :D

The real trick lately has been keeping the furnace going. I never realized that the intake vent on a hi-efficiency furnace can freeze up with ice - who would have thunk it  Not fun at 3am to go out in 3 degree weather and break the ice off of it so one can have heat :? found out that wrapping a heating pad around the pipe just inside the foundation keeps the pipe thawed out - who woulda thunk that either  the joys of living in the country :) I'm NOT ready to go back to the city yet though...

So glad to hear that Roadrunner is doing better!! :)

So sorry to hear of Coyote's frozen water lines - that's been a big fear here as this is our first winter in this house. Wishing you warmer weather Tom!

Wishing the rest of you warmer weather soon and no more snow to shovel :)

Hooray for Roadrunner! :clapper:

Even Dusty joins the pick-on-Popeye club? :?  i have not shoveled my driveway yet, its salted, should kick-in around 20*.

I found Olive Oyl sitting out in the yard this morning wearing her parka & a blanket.  She was sitting out with her dogs [for 2 hours] enjoying the "sunshine" & fresh air. :?  She said it was nice in the "sunshine", but it was only 12*-14*. :snowman:  Crazy woman!

I hear next week is supposed to be decent ... needs to be official from Weather Guru, though.

Thank you sir. Its been a nasty winter so far and its a long way from over. However, I've survived bullets, knives, and other near death experiences so I guess I'll make it through this. Its not the temps so much as the prolonged cold day after day and we even have frost heaves's in a concrete walk walk! That's just not right for the South!

On the good note side, we've cured quite a few problems on some lines, but two more nights and this one is gonna be single didgets with gawd only know where the wind chill will be at. I told my wife, I don't wanna get outta bed tomorrow. :(

Oh well, as soon as I knock over a few liquor stores, ( I'm joking) I may have enough money to pay the electric bill this month. Forget the water bill, it will have to wait since that will be several hunderd with all the broken lines.

Ain't life grand :X

I wonder if the bikes will start, they've never sat this long before.

Have a great day folks, I'm off to my second martini and then hot home made chicken soup and lots of it! :action::)

Well, one thing about the single digit temps (and especially the below 0 temps here in the midwest) - that qualifies as "snuggle up to your sweetie" weather :D it's supposed to be -6 degrees tonite!

No extra "snugglin" around here!  Olive is out in the yard reading a book on her favorite bench, soakin-up-sunshine + fresh air.  I went out there for a bit [18* with wind chill] & visited her & the dogs.

It looks like the nasty stuff is over.  Big dog out of the garage tonight & extra heaters off.

I talked to my mom yesterday & she ain't happy, snowed-in in Buckhead, GA + lives on top of a steep hill.

I see 53* & sunny on Wednesday!!  Hmmmm, what to do?

Let me tell you how it is with this week after week of sustained cold down here. I stood here this morning and watched a cow walk all the way across our lake right through the middle. I held my breath waiting to it to fall through but it never cracked. That ice in the middle has got to be thick, but it scared the crap outta me. If the cow would have gone through there was not a damn thing I could do. Today its supposed to get a little better daily for a few days. Lets hope so, can't take much more of this. :waving:

:12red:

Boy do I need a ride too. Cabin fever, cold fever and pissed fever, I got it all.
But, we are still alive, if thats a good thing. As things thaw out over the next few days, if they do, we'll see what leaks and don't. :( We've fixed so many things now that they've raised the price of pipe parts!

I started both bikes yesterday and let them run for a good while to burn out old gas. Then I shut them off, slammed the garage doors shut and let the engine heat warm it up. Boy did that work good. My 12 pack of coke even thawed out that was on the work bench.;)

I think I saw where it was gonna get close to 50 here later in the week, if it does, the butt ugly red one is gonna get a work out. I need a Steak and Shake fix too:dude:
