I think that guy is pretty cool too... Mine... is the iconic image of El Capitan, which is a sheer rock promontory just beneath Guadalupe Peak in Texas. GP is the highest point in Texas. I have climbed it many times and once camped overnight there, where we star gazed and flew kites late into the evening. (It's always windy there... and brutally cold.) That night, March 21st 1986, my buddies and I could honestly claim to have the highest kites in Texas. Geologically, it is the most prominent remains of the worlds largest coral reef. Bigger even that the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. It was laid down during the Permian era and that region still bears the name the "Permian Basin." I love the desert. It's purity is unspoiled and uncluttered. It is empty from the buzzing and bustling of more climate, attractive areas! I may venture into the mountains and marvel at their beauty from time to time, but deep in my heart, I am a desert creature. My user name is also a navigational marker. Find US 385, folow it to it's eventual terminus. At that point, where are you? West Texas is my heart... and my soul! I change my Avatar around, from time to time. My current avatar, is of a 'door prize' I won at my Riding Group's 'Sister' Chapter's Christmas party. It was made by one of their members who makes headstones for a living. Everyone agreed that it couldn't have gone to a better recipient, as I constantly put on the most miles per year of anyone in both of our Chapters.
