As a teenager, every morning I heard through the radio speaker: "It's a lovely day to be in Athens. Keep smiling until 10 o'clock and the rest of the day will take care of itself." It didn't matter how miserable the weather was or how high gas prices had climbed, this strong male voice made this proclamation every morning. Turns out H Randolf Holder, the owner of the radio station, had spent time in a Nazi prison camp during WWII before escaping successfully on his 4th attempt. He eventually made his way to Russia and to Italy. The experience had quite an affect on his perspective of life that he shared daily with his listeners. I have found it true in my own life- no matter how bad things appear, they could be worse... Keep your chin up and your heart thankful, the glass really could be a lot emptier, but I think you've got a handle on that!
