We are making the rounds of surgeons and oncologists, fighting and seeking some relief for his pain. He is losing weight rapidly, but if he is still with me in October, I will bring him to Georgia for the weekend he is dreaming of. Would you let people on the forum know about him? He has not been able to do anything - has not even been able to answer his e-mails. Much love and thanks to all of you - Trish Simpson

Friends,
I am Mike's son, Will. He has mentioned this forum to me before. Tonight I found the forum and this post using google. Wanted to give you an update.
Daddy has started chemotherapy. The cancer is inoperable and chemotherapy is the last treatment option. Daddy has lost 37lbs since March 5th. He didn't have it to lose, he was never a large man. He now weighs about 130lbs. The doctors are working to keep the pain down and his appetite up. Daddy is getting a feeding tube soon.
Momma is trying to work and take care of Daddy. My sister lives relatively close to them and is helping, as is my grandmother. My wife and I are taking Daddy's only grandson, William III, to visit again this weekend. I live in Mississippi and have been traveling to Adairville/Nashville often. William is 17 months old and enjoys visiting Granny and Grandpa.
Thank you all for the kind words and prayers. If you all need to contact my parents, you can do so through me and I will give them the message.

Will, thank you for keeping us updated with your fathers condition, there are a lot of people on this forum praying for your Daddy and his wife and the rest of his family, you can be assured these prayers will continue and with luck a miracle may happen.
I am sure your Dad appreciates you taking his grandson to visit as regular as possible, and i have no doubt he draws strength from the way you and your sister are helping in this difficult time.
Pass him our best regards, and again thanks for keeping us posted, visit here often and keep us informed or scream at us when the pain becomes to much to bear on your own, you are amongst friends.
David

Will,
Pain is lessened when shared and happiness is doubled when shared.
Any time you want to share your pain, there will be a whole bunch of people here to help you through it.
Keep your chin up. Laugh often and tell your Daddy we miss him.

Blessings to Mike and family from Ontario. Don't forget that no matter how it looks from our up-close ground level view, we can find peace and strength in that we are all in God's loving gentle hands. Trust in this, it has been promised to us -God's children one and all!
