:clapper:Congratulations:clapper: To everyone who has lost weight. My hubby, devans41793, had to go on a diet already because of his health. He was in no way overweight, but his cholesterol was high. He has all the bad stuff on his side of the family, heart disease, diabetes....etc. He went to the dr and when he told him his cholesterol was high, that was it. Fast food....Gone, Red meat....Gone.

Then came the chicken, pork, turkey and salads. His cholesterol dropped 27 points in 5 weeks with no medication. I am so proud of him and we both are healthier than ever. I, of course, needed a taco or 2 in between cuz I didnt have anymore weight to lose..LOL I was down to 95 pounds...Sry. I have a very high metabolism. Anyways he has dropped almost 20 pounds.

So I am proud of you all:clapper::D

Okay, I guess it's time the big boy joined the program.  6'6" 340lbs... and no, that's not a honda rebel I'm standing behind, that's my VTX1800retro.

The good wife has hornswaggled me into quitting smoking, doing the Dave Ramsey program for increasing our savings, and taking her to Hawaii for our first anniversary... I might as well drop some pounds while I'm still young enough to do it the way I want to.... by working it off my arse.  Although, I have been watching some dude, Paul McKenna,  from across the pond preach his way of weight loss... and it actually does make a lot of sense... slow down, chew your food, eat when you are hungry and learn to stop when you are actually full... not when you can't button your pants.

I'll drop by the thread every once in a while and let you know my progress.  My goal is 220.  That probably sounds like fat-boy weight to a lot of y'all, but anything under 200 on my frame looks almost anorexic.  I was 6'6.5" coming out of high school and only weighed 178lbs.

Wish me luck.  (actually went from a 6'4' 298lbs middle linebacker to that 178lbs tennis player in 8 months... double knee surgery and a bad case of the flu that winter)   I'm hoping for a lengthier, but healthier, road to weight loss this time.

I find this all very amazing how this has taken off.:D  I'm currently sidelined with the flu bug, but I am still eating clean and straight.  So far I've lost 6 inches off my waist.  I just finished my 5th week.

Another guy who is  a  fit type is Gofastandfalldown. :weightlifter:
He PM'd me a while ago saying he has some Marathons and Triathalons lined up to do this summer.

Keep it up everyone:waving:

Never did a Triathalon, :shakehead: :shakehead:  :shakehead: but ran 27 Marathons (26mls 385yds-- 42.195Klms) and only broke the 3hr barrier once   -  just by a few seconds :weightlifter: and ran a huge number of Half Marathons which is a nice distance :skipping:

The days, weeks, months, of hard training :weightlifter: were a lot more difficult than the actual Marathon itself  :skipping:

I'm proud to say that since the first of the year, I've lost 25 lbs. Finally under 300 for the first time in quite awhile.

I lost over 100 lbs at one point but then I discovered she was just out getting groceries.   Thank goodness for both.
