Jennifer is doing the "Body for Life" so Mrs 2wings and I was influenced to get physically fit and shed some fat pounds before we head off to Calhoun, Ga for the NASSGR.
If we Wingers intend to have an extended life and enjoy riding well into our senior years we need to get physically fit. Getting rid of excess body weight gives one all kinds of benefits - lower blood pressure, more mobility, reduced joint injury, lower cholesterol and the list goes on.
I don't know how good vitamin supplements are but we are taking the "Reliv" product as we get fit. So I challenge all to get fit. I weighed in today at 220 my target weight is 190. blood pressure 120/80, pulse 64
Get er Done
Keep on Winging

| I am with you all the way on this. I am probably pushing 230 lbs, and my aim is to hit 200. It is going to happen. I will look quite thin at 200 though, as I am just a naturally big boy.

I agree with the need to get fit. Two years ago, in an effort to minimize the strain on my back, I reformed my diet, and went from 235 to 210. After this past couple of weeks, I realized that I am at a crossroads in my life. That if I dont get in top shape now, the next 20 years will be miserable.
I am down another 5 pounds, and have been improving my cardio condition. the family joined a local gym, and we are loving the workouts... My son is catching the bus after school to meet me at the gym this afternoon..
Sweet...

Alright, 2 Wings, I'm also at 220, and I'll match ya pound fer pound! Even though I am already in incredible, hard-muscled shape.........

This is interesting that this has been brought up! I don't have a scale in my house yet (haven't had one for several years) but I am in the 240ish range at last check. I have a physical coming up in a few weeks and I am afraid of what my Dr will say...
I have pre-empted his pre-emptory strike by just purchasing an elliptical trainer this past week...My wife encouraged me to get it as she would like to have me around for a few more years...although she also told me if I use it less then 3 times a week, she's going to sell it...she's giving me 3 months !
I used it for the first time Saturday...16 minutes was all I could do...my legs were like rubber (and this is from a guy that has hiked the top quarter of the appalachian trail about ten years ago!).
Yesterday morning I jumped on it and was able to stay on for 20 minutes and then got on it again last night for another 20 minutes (and yes, I was moving my legs too ).
My goal is ultimately 180ish but I would love to see 200 again...
I gotta do it, I gotta do it!

| Boy I really should join in on this. I'm at about 235 right now and should be more like 210. But I'm lazy so I'm not sure if I'll actually manage it.

That's a purdy lady next to you there mate. The stats shows that our ladies will out live us, I have decide to beat that number. Thinking about that has motivated me; also I intend to ride my wing for another 30 years. So I best get started preparing myself for the long haul.

I have been bicycle riding these past two summers. I bought a treadmill and a stationary (recumbent?) bike this winter. I can't use the treadmill, it absolutely kills my ankles but I have been "riding" the bike 10 miles a night, most every night.
I'm down to 245 from 265 with some more to go.

OK check this out, most men in the 2wings family have only live to age 60. Alcohol, tobacco, bad diet, and over weight has taken its toll. I don't drink or smoke but I battle with weight.
My diet leaves a lot to be desired. I don't eat the fast food like I once did but my diet still has too much fat and sugar in it. If by getting fit it will add 30 more years to my life, I'm game.
I really enjoy you being part of the Forum community and appreciate your wisdom concerning Wing repair but you will be missed if your days are cut short because you didn't make some life changes. The Time is Now!

Bicycle riding is a good, good way to go; and, if I ever decide on what kind of trailer I'm gonna get, I think I'll work on a way to carry our road bicycles with us this summer on our tour......
2 Wings: yeah, I'm "buff" alright, kinda like a marshmallow!

My target weght loss for next Monday's weigh-in is 4 lbs and to keep my blood pressure under 125/85. Before I started a diet high in fat and salt, I was posting numbers like 114/73.
Lays potato chips, Theater Popcorn, homemade butter, fast food, Lindt Truffles, butter pecan icecream and the starchy foods have been my down fall. Well enough is enough, I've got to change starting today.
