Hve paid a quick visit to Dennis today. No great change, will update a bit later, gotta dash.

I took the print off up to just before 2 Wings posted by the way and he will read at his leisure.

Well an update on Dennis is, that he had some tests on Friday last and was due an Angiogram on Monday after I left. The results of which will determine how the Docs are going to proceed.

Again, despite his predicament, he was in remarkabley good spirits, trying to stay cheerful in the face of adversity.

Apparently the stents that were put in just after Christmas collapsed soon after and so have worsened the situation, so they are now looking at putting some more in or doing another bypass as he would wish.

I shall of course phone him again soon to see how he is doing.

Well, I took the bull by the horns just after that last post and rang Dennis.

He is coming out of hospital today, Ann is going to collect him this afternoon. Unfortunately this means that the Surgeon has been to see him and explained that there is nothing further that can be done. They simply feel that any futher surgery would not be of any benifit to Dennis and could in fact make matters worse.

Obviously he is not feeling too grand about all this, but is already resigned and determined to just get on and make the best of a bad thing. The Tin Tent was delivered today and he is determined that they should get away in it as soon as possible. Having lived with this situation for many years he is quite aware of any potential pitfalls to going away and quite rightly considers it still the best thing to do.

As he said himself, if he doesn't just get on with life and make the most of it, they might have well just put him down!! Good on you Dennis, never stop fighting.:clapper:

Silverfox, thanks for keeping us updated.  I know "good people" when I meet 'em, and you are a tremendous mate to everyone, even those of us who don't properly deserve it! :dude:  Well, except those youth you kicked the _ _ _ _ out of, yesterday, for speeding on their mopeds (or were they running with scissors?) in front of your house!

Dennis The Menace- for some reason, the immortal words of Stephen Stills popped into my head...."If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with".....good advice, no doubt, but it doesn't apply to you, nor any number of good friends I have from this site.

You are ABSOLUTELY on the right track, with the "tin tent" Dennis; you have the good fortune that you CAN be with the one you love, as well as "love the one you're with".

Enjoy it, Dennis.  You don't seem to me to be the type who let's some arse..... Doctor's opinion get him down.  Consider it a challenge....you know....like "I'm going to prove those buggers wrong, and live for a thousand years".

I know that there are a whole bunch of us on this site, all "rootin' for ya" mate.....

:band:  Let the band play on.....

Glad to hear the New and Improved Tin tent has appeared, get in it Dennis and make your way up here, you and Anne are most welcome anytime you are passing, some clean fresh mountain air will do you good.

Sorry to hear that the quacks did'nt have anything more positive to offer, but now I have to agree with Motorcycle Pete, prove the idiots wrong, then laugh in their faces.

Dennis himself is far from being a serious fellow and would appreciate some humour just as much as well wishes.

I am looking forward to his return to the forums with his own brand of humour. :D

A bit like the advice to Margaret Thacher from Harold Macmillan on the eve of the Faukland war: "Never give up, never give up, never ever give up". God bless you Dennis.
