Luckily I believe both Fred and Dennis are well trained in that department!!!
Dennis did have to do a "Victor" on a couple of suppliers of equipment for the Tin Tent, they were very slow in sending stuff out and the latest was that the police have had to be involved in recovering one item that was delivered to a wrong house by mistake and the person who signed for it, signed in Ann's name and has not returned the item as promised..... never a dull moment at Monkton Manor!!!

Silverfox wrote: Update.... phoned Dennis last night, he was in cheerful mood and reported that he has had good and bad days, and is continuing with life as best he can. The house is having some cosmetic work done on it at the moment, which is keeping both of them pre occupied and they are still preparing the Tin Tent, in readiness for a proposed trip up towards Norfolk towards the end of the month, though time frames may change.
The good Lady Monkton is trying to get the dog, Fred, trained a bit, but it sounds as though he is a bit of a law unto himself and I suspect the word "sit!!!!" still means he bounces around like a kangaroo!!! Some slightly more successful training is due to come in the form of the Lady Monkton being shown how to drive the new Tin Tent. Apparently the garage owner who sold them the camper van, is kindly going to come out to take ann for lessons. I will try and find out dates that Ann will be on the road around the Ramsgate area, in the 28' monstrosity, so that members here can avoid the area!!!!!
So, whilst I can't come here and report any miraculous change in Dennis' health, I am pleased to say that he is still in remarkably good spirits and determined to carry on regardless.
I look forward to the day that he feels able to return to the forums and bless us with his dry wit and informative contributions. Hi Dennis, pleased you are making some progress with your health and looking foreward to your trip hopefully at the end of the month, we all need some thing to look froward to, mine is the Welsh meet and greet but I lead a sad life In the absence of your 'dry' wit, we have Tanygaer filling that space If it wasn't for the more intellectual like me, what a sad state the world would be, know what I mean?

As some one that has had 2 heart attacks, 7 stents implanted and a triple-bypass I feel Dennis's pain and worry. I want to at least see my 14 year old son graduate from high school. I also have COPD so my diet and life style habits have changed quite a bit. Throw in extreme acid reflux not to mention the other minor problems and you'll understand why I finally bought another Wing after being off a bike for 10 years.
I want to go out in style!!!
Dennis, brother rider you are, live long and ride hard!!

Update.... spoke again to Dennis the other day, he was chipper and his usual Victor Meldrew self. Still planning to go away for a while in the Tin Tent, though the plans are set back a few days because of ongoing "house work" that the Lady Monkton is having done. The builders have apparently nearly finished and all the bits for the Tin Tent have been put in place, from the matching bedding, towels and loo roll!!!!
I can't wait to get down there to see around the stately home of a camper van that they now have and of course to visit Dennis and Ann.
We have the wheel chair to return that they kindly lent us for when Helen was off her feet, so that should be our excuse to get down there. I am not sure we can do this before they have their trip away, but when we do get there, I will encourage him to get back and posting on here. It's about time I gave him some more hassle and stick!!!
Will continue to keep you all updated as and when I get any news.
Thanks for your well wishes, I will print them off again and take them to him if he doesn't get on here to read them himself.

Tell dennisthemenace from Redwing to report back on the forum A.S.A.P. He hasn't posted here since the 25th March
To keep his monthly cheque in order for his "Senior Member" rank
Tell him he must post at least once in the next ten days

As a person who ran out of options and had a heart transplant on 1/26/08, there are always options. I slap wore out my old heart and never really wanted to even consider transplant until I woke up in the hospital with a heart pump in my groin. Three weeks later, I have a new one. Now a 54 model with a 79 engine...
Consider all possibilities, the transplant was easier than the by-pass was. If you want a recommendation - Methodist Hospital Houston.

Maybe Wingnut realised in advance that I was going to ring to find out how Dennis is doing?
Anyway, I spoke to his wife Ann, as Dennis was sleeping. He gets tired very easily, but has managed to potter around outside, in this better weather we have been enjoying. They have not yet been able to get that break away trip sorted, poor Dennis is not yet up to it, but they are still hopefull.
The oxygen cylinder has been helping with teh angina and luckily Dennis hasn't had to revisit the hospital since I updated you all last.
That's about it for now folks.
