I believe animals know a heck of a lot more than we give them credit for. My two dogs are just like children to my wife and I. When I travel for work they mope the entire time I am gone and shower me with affection when I return. Sadly my German Shepherd is in poor medical condition now and it breaks my heart. He may need surgery on his back and total cost is going to run around $4200. We really can't afford it, but we will be financing the surgery if it comes down to it. He has never left me side... I can not leave his.
