Cousin Jack wrote: What I was reacting to was the poor lady in her ward - blind and nearly deaf and unable to comprehend why or where she was. Unspeakable horror, that....at least in my mind.
One of the most inspiring people I have ever met was a lady I met on a bus. She was travelling to Florida from Detroit by herself because she loved to wade in the ocean. She was blind and deaf.
I sat next to her and we communicated by her talking as I spelled words on the palm of her hand.
I am so sorry to hear of your hurting. The pain goes so deep because of the screaming inside of you that says, "This is NOT fair!!" I went through that with my mother last year and it's a battle inside not wanting to be with out her in this world and not wanting to see her in the shape she is in anymore.
I gave up trying to figure out why, and just spent my time with her holding her hand and loving her up until the very end. Do what you have to do to "let it out" and don't keep it inside. It was wrecking me thinking that because I was a pastor I had to have my perfect little religious face on all the time and it was eating me up.
You have a lot of people here in our Goldwing family that are more than willing to help you through this! We're praying for peace to get you through this!
