I don't know how it is in your area, but here in the "midwest" area of the US, it isn't uncommon to drive 100-120 miles a day just to and from work. With those kind of prices for fuel, that could ruin a perfectly good pay check. I did it for 32 yrs, but the cost of fuel wasn't near what the prices are now.
