I was riding home from work about 3 pm yesterday, in the 3rd lane of a 8 lane divided (4 on each direction) interstate section of I-30 in Little Rock.  I noticed out of the corner of my eye a white Expedition just coming into the lane with me, I laid on the air horns and the woman driving then realized I was already there, and thanks to the great high speed handling of the 1500, I was able to swerve enough to keep from getting hit.  I guess, she thought since she was bigger than me, she automactically had the right of way, but when I hit those air horns, it brought her out of her trance.  There is no way that she could had heard stock horns, she was jammin to the boots in the dryer music, and yacking on the cell phone.  Her eyes were as big as saucers when she heard those air horns though.  And you can bet she heard me when I shouted to her "what are you trying to do lady, kill me?" (Only inches from her driver's window) I always try to stay aware of my souroundings, even when I am driving the car or truck.  Especially in heavy traffic areas.  Good thing I was paying attention yesterday, or someone would had been posting about motorcyclist ran over on interstate or something.  It wasn't like you couldn't see me, all lights on, driving lights on, I'm wearing the brightest orange wind breaker known to man, and white helmet.  Hell, Ray Charles could had seen me.  It just goes to show that some drivers do not pay any attention while driving, and nothing can save you from them but yourself.   Be safe out there friends!:)

Had one of those change lanes in the intersection I was making a right turn onto. Didn't notice that happening until I saw the blur as I was rolling into the launch. I know she saw me coming.

Couldn't believe she missed me but she was doing about 60 in a 35 zone so it would have been messy for sure.

She never looked back. Big black SUV.

Those are the types that want to blame you for getting blood and guts on their 'ride', assuming they didn't do the hit and run that seems to be so popular around here these days.

I glad to hear that you kept out of trouble.

Just today, the wife and I were in town. We were in a one way with three lanes all the same direction, no turn lanes around.

A woman in a classy Accura didn't like being behind me, so she pulled around and passed. From some insane reason she drove about a half a mile just beside me, and then decided to go over to the extreme right hand side. Wanted to change the entire width of the road.

I gave her my stock horn and accelerated past her. She gave me one of those goofy hi there waves.

Stupid a** people??

I won't reserve a "nice horn" for any one.

They encroach on my territory, they get an earful :P

That happens to me every time I go to, around or through Little Rock. Glad the 1800 came with loud horns and glad you made it to ride another day. I'm up for a ride this weekend(nothing new, it's harder to talk me out of a ride than into one) call if interested.

WOW We went to the Bikes BBQ festival in Arkansas and had a close call on the way down. We were on a 2 lane out of Springfield Mo and a semi coming to meet us flipped a 4 foot fender up and threw it out from under his trailor right into my bike. I hit it with the side of my ferring knocking it out in front of me, I then ran smack dab over the center of it kicking it up again and the bike behind me got it as well. Thank god we all kept the bike upright and no damage to us or the bikes. It scrathed my ferring a litlle but thats a small price for what could have happened. I didnt even have time to get scared it was like a blurr coming at us then went into slow motion. Scared me afterwards when I realized just how close to being hurt we were.

Dang Gene, you playing chicken with SUV's now? Loud Pipes annoy people, but loud horns save lives! Please tell me you "modified" the side of her door with a well placed boot.

Heck, I was so close, I could have "kneed her".  No, I won't kick their vehicle, it's not the vehicle's fault that it's operator is an idiot.  And no need to make a bad situation worse.:(

Dave, as far as this weekend, I'm going to Texas this weekend to return Quinton's trailer, and for moma to take care of some business.  I won't be back until Tuesday evening.:(
