I was looking for parts and this site came up read some of the posts and it sure seemed like a good idea to register, this is only my second post, but hope to have more. Just had a 750 mile ride along the north shores of Lakes Huron and Superior, some great views. I too appreciated the welcome I received, Thanks!!!

I wanted to get back on a Goldwing and bought an 86 Aspencade a couple of months ago. After the event I Googled for information on Goldwings and found the "Buying a used Goldwing" page which was very useful.

Since then I have searched the site when I have been faced with a bit of a challenge with my Wing that hasn't had much looking after over the last 5 years and usually I find that someone on the site has had the same problem and has found a solution. That is a real testimonial to the site and the members who take time to help out and record what they have done to their Wings, thus helping out newbies like me. Thank heavens for the archives.

I now try to follow the technical forum daily as I find there is always something to learn and the other forums when I can.

Great site with great people from all over the globe. Thanks for all your help.

I found the forum wihle I as on line looking for some parts to fis up a 1984 gl 1200 Aspencade I bought over the memorial day weekend.  I had to rebulid the carburators due to the bike sitting up for three years.  Got it going that following weekend.  Rode it about 2000 miles now and it is doing good after I changed all fluids and synchronized the carbs.:waving:  I've been riding Motorcycles since I was eight years old and my dad bought a 1975 Honda MR 50.  I have had 8 motorcycles and this is the second goldwing. I just wish I could afford a new one.

I came across  this forum when I first bought my '86 SEi and it didn't seem to be charging properly.  I did an internet search on GL 1200 Charging and the first item was a thread on this site which had complete instructions on checking the stater.  I check in daily now and, even though I don't post as often as some, this site has been a wealth of information on a lot of different subjects.  Nothing makes me feel better than when I can (occasionally) post something from my experience which may actually help another owner.

Thanks everyone for a wonderful forum.  Of course the administrators, but hats-off to all the active members who have made owning a Goldwing an even more special experience:clapper:.

Amen to that. It's the least we can do to payback.

I just decided to get my GL1000 and gave the seller some money down on it.

I was so excited about it,but realized that I didn't know anything about them, so I started looking into Goldwings online.

I found this site and after reading 60+ pages about converting to a single carb, I decided that this would be a great place to learn a lot more about 'Wings.

Googled "goldwing forums" and this was one of the first ones to come up. I asked a question about what was thought to be a bad motor and received lots of replies and good advice. I didn't really get hooked until I saw the fundraiser for a fella who had his bike burn up, and enough was raised to get him into a decent used one. As I recall, most folks didn't even know the fella personally but gave anyway. Good people here!

Yeah that happens a lot here. Plenty of good folk just jump in and help. Have a look in this thread, it has a list of other like good acts of kindness:

I found this by doing a Goggle search for "goldwing forum".  This is the most
active forum I've found.  I appreciate all the good info and the detailed "how to's"
