A while back wingnut mentioned that he might be able to offer email address's using the goldwingfacts.com domain. This is now a real possibility since he has upgraded the server to this super fast one. Email address's would be username@goldwingfacts.com, it would be password protected, and you would have the ability to change your password in a web mail interface. For example my email address is tanygaer@goldwingfacts.com there is a webmail interface and it is very easy to use. We would like to guage the number of members that would be intrested in this feature hence the poll. At first it will be trialed, with a few selected users, no more than 20 to see how the server copes etc with more traffic. It is likely that the number of users will need to be restricted, and the quota of space is unlikely to be more than 2megs. The poll will run for seven days

Two options are availabe; You will be able to access mail either through a web page interface and you can choose Horde, Squirrelmail or Roundcube (Roundcube looks easiest to use). Alternatively you can configure your Outlook, Outlook Express or MacMail to get the mail through POP3.

I chose to try Mozilla Thunderbird. It was easy to configure and worked the first time. I had to use the SSL configuration though. COX cable won't allow POP3 accounts any other way. I suppose that is okay, they used to not allow any 3rd party POP3 accounts. Forced you to use their outgoing SMTP servers.

I've actually used squirrlemail, and it's pretty simple...as long as I can POP3 it, I'm good.

Bagmaster wrote: Sign my up!!!! Can i have mine as TheToolMaster@goldwingfacts.com? I suspect we will stick to using your forum names as this will be much easier to handle from an administrative point of view, I will be giving the other mods their emails later on today, when I gt home from work. The trial continues, but everything is looking good so far.
