Last night, it came to my attention that our good friend Woodbutcher is about to be evicted from his home if he can’t find some way to make his bills for the next six weeks.
You might remember he was trying to sell his bike to catch up on his mortgage but so far no takers.

At the moment, his house payment of $500 is over due 19 days, and on the 30th day he must give their home up because of a “Quiet Possession” statement in his home mortgage contract.  As he only has 5 years left to pay his home off, that would be a horrible thing to have happen.

His wife is a “CNA” nurse but only works on an “as needed” basis.  Lately the hospitals are not calling in CNAs as much as they have been.  And private duty nursing is also sparse right now and her pay is very erratic; almost decent one month and then sometimes only a few days worth the next month.

Woodbutcher’s name is Howard Eastman, and he has related that IF they can some how come up with $1,000 before the end of this month, they can pay the mortgage up to date. And get the electric bill, water and utility bills current.  The home phone and cable tv disappeared 2 months ago and Howard’s savings have now all been used up.   Their needs for December will also be $1,000 if a job does not show up before Dec 30.

Howard told me that he just does not know where to turn anymore.  Employer after employer has taken his applications and either told him he is “over qualified”, or “we’re not hiring” or “we just hired a young man yesterday” or, they just don’t bother to call at all.  The typical stuff you get when you are in the middle 50’s age bracket.

He has tried all the usual sources to try and get help. Banks won’t talk to him (your not in bankruptcy yet), the social aid folks are over run and only helping folks who are living in the streets.  ( that’s only 2 weeks away for Howard and his wife ).

At this time, he can’t even buy any gas for his bike so that he can keep looking for jobs.

If any of you can spare a few bucks to help Howard and his wife through the end of the year, he wants to pay everyone back when he gets back on his feet.

I can relate. If we don't sell our land by the end of the month, January will be the exact same thing for us.
If we do sell it, we will try to help out some.

As a result, product availability will be hit or miss during the transition, both at the web store and at Cyclemax. SmartLights are discontinued with the possibility of occasional small batches being made if there is interest. The transition will be gradual and I will continue to make items as I am able. Please expect extended delivery times. If you have a specific need, please let me know and I will attempt to accommodate you. I thank you all for your friendship, support and loyalty.

I don't have a lot to give but I will send a check...I don't have a PP account....Here's hoping that we can help this member who desperately needs our help...PM or call your friends on this forum.....Tell them of Howard's plight....I have my self been there and lost two homes in the past, it's not a great feeling...Dig deep guys .....

Claude.....

PS: In these tough times I am always amazed by some things I see....Howard himself while in desperate need of help from us, has posted a site to where just by visiting this Land O Lakes web site, that company will donate $1.00 dollar to help those in need..Now I ask you to go visit that site and do your part to help...I also ask that every member PLEASE....Give what you can to help Howard out....He has shown to me that even in his time of need that he will do his part to help others.....I salute you Howard .....I'm putting off buying some items for my Gold Wings to help a member.....
