Baggy I just got your pm and set up the thread on vtx (late I know) I got a feeling we need to watch out for the family a little longer just for safety sake (Bad landlord)
lets add a cushion

Well, I can't control what those crazy VTX'rs do on their forum now that you've posted it over there. :cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1:

I will reveal one more detail about his rent. His rent is actually $1850 a month, it's just that when I started this he did have $500 saved back to go with the $1350 we were looking to get together for him and his family. We did that and then some.

Anyways if they do contribute from over there try to get me a running tab of what they send. Or the link to the thread you started. Just let them know we have reached our goal already but hey, extra as a cushion is always nice to have.

BAGGY!!! what do you mean crazy vtx'rs Bad biker bad Lol

it was my home that burned down christmas eve...and someone from vtxcafe posted my situation here. long story short, there was much help offered and given from the members here on this site. im not pressuring or "plugging" the vtxcafe, but there are alot of great people there. several members that frequent the site dont even own a vtx. some ride harleys...some ride victories...some ride goldwings...even have one that rides a silverwing. i joined this site initially just to thank everyone for the help given to myself and my family...but i find myself reading some of the posts here daily. sorry this is so long, but my point is just that anyone is welcome to join the vtxcafe, and we would welcome anyone from here over there. you are a great group of people here...and as well, we have a great group of people there.

surprising to me how tragic situations can bring groups of people together in a common bond to help one of our own in need...i hope to sometime ride with members here as well as members there...who knows...maybe all together.

ride safe all, and thanks for your time.

I still hearing from the guys on the vtx site sending in money to help.
I think its just the fact that when you ride you are just open to the world around you .
you see everything differently The road ,the trees the mountains everything and life becomes more so you want to share what God has given
we just see life with clear vision , whats important whats not Family,Friends, Health and the bike

There was a thread a few months back asking everyone whether or not they routinely waved with the "low hand" wave when meeting fellow motorcyclists. I must admit, at the time I really did not get it. Why would total strangers greet each other almost out of reflex? After the events of the last few days it is clear. No matter who you are or what you ride, as an avid rider you belong to a brotherhood, a family if you will. I do throw the "low hand" at every fellow rider I meet, now more than ever because that rider I meet may very well be the rider that offers to help or one day will require some help. I am proud to belong to such a family.

we have had a few threads on the cafe about this same subject...and all jokes aside..."low hand" wave, "goldwing" wave (high hand), "med hand" wave, "peace sign" wave, "pointing" wave, etc...doesnt matter to me. i wave at everyone and if they wave back, it makes me smile. this whole situation does put a little more perspective on the fact that there are some great people that ride. doesnt matter what you ride either...as stated...help others. never know...could be you needing help yourself in the future.

Paypal sent (what I could) I've not posted in a long while and havent kept up much on posts as i'm mending from wrecking in october about 4 weeks after becoming a widower, bikes in the process of being repaired at least. When it rains it pours but I figure the good Lord left me here for a reason.

Back to the wave thing. I find that when I'm riding a naked bike it's easier to do the 'low wave' due to wind pressure. On the 'Wing with the windshield and fairing a 'high wave' is easy and more convenient. At speed on my Silverwing the 'low wave' works best. For those of you who won't return a wave to a scooter rider, pizzonya.

I have no problem giving the "low hand" on the GW. But I do go with the "high hand" when there is an obstruction like a median divider, bridge railing, etc. And I'm with Paul, don't wave.... Hell with ya!
