You had a lot more water running a Burning Fall then when we were there...

There was a lot of snow melting and there had been rain and snow for a couple weeks before. The side falls are actually ground water coming out from between the layers of lava. It was really cool there I'm glad that I ran into the local in Weed, Ca.  in the Cougar Cafe that diverted me from my ride to Klamath Falls and said that Burney Falls was a lot prettier.

I decided to do a run from New Brighton Beach to Fort Bragg, Ca along Highway 1 and the across the Ca20 to Chico, Ca.
It rained for about 200 of the 300 miles getting down to Santa Cruz what a wet soggy mess I was.

Here we just finnished setting up camp in the rain

The view that we saw as we ate breakfast.

Nice Shots, Marty!  ... I'm jealous, as it'll be another month, at best, before we'll have half decent weather to get out and do some moto-camping. Snow is finally starting to disappear around these parts.

Say,   ......    have you been further up the coast and crossed from Fortuna, over to Red Bluff, along that snake of a road, 36? Might want to try that one, if you haven't.  :cooldevil:

Okay DB, I have a meeting at 9am and then am heading out to ride the 36 again. I think that I am going to head up to Crater Lake Oregon. I got a few days vacation to kill.

I'll make sure and get some pictures.;)

Have fun on 36, Marty!  :cooldevil:

If you were planning on camping, be advised that the vasy majority of the park is still closed  Make sure you take some warm gear. When I was camping at Lost Creek campground there last Sept. 3, the morning temps were below freezing and that campground is, I believe, at a slightly lower elevation than the Mazama campground, although it(Lost Creek) is located in a 'cold sink hole'  ......

while Mazama is on top of a hill

If camping and you are getting near the end of the day and riding through the Giant Coastal Redwoods around the Fortuna area,   .....

....  I can recommend camping at the Van Duzen county park.

I stayed at campsite # 2, I believe. Very nice, peaceful spot   ....
