Friends who will accept you like family and offer you the shirt off their backs when you are in need.... Yes, I am enjoying every delicious moment getting ready. i just checked my Motorcycle Trip Checklist, and each time, I find some little something that needs to be done. but, I am finally down to the box that has to wait until tomorrow morning. My meds..... and my laptop.... both have to be packed in the last 30 minutes, then it is time to go at least their uptime is better than most, and their broken wheel history is way better than most.... 1st Class? Yep, all of us are in 1st class, where ever you can stuff your butt, you are 1st!!!!

Brian, I would love too, but my system is full of hop up power, courtesy of the hospital yesterday at the noon hour. I developed an asthma attack, and spent the evening in the ER getting a breathing treatment, times 3!!! Then they gave me a dose of Solu-Medrol or something that sounds like that. Mardonna says I am so hyper, that my shoulders stand a head height above the ceilings in this house. Oh well, time to sleep whilst the Cattle Call driver points us southeasterly, right?

John, Do you remember my similar trip 18 months ago, when I rode my Wing home after my accident 25 years earlier which broke my back?. That journey was 350 miles, and a 4 hour ferry crossing. Nowhere near what you're embarking on, but you can understand my concern for ya...yeh??? Now try and get some shut eye

He was just posting in the general motorcycle section a few minutes ago. Really fired up about the White Knight. It might have to snow down there to keep him off the bike tomorrow.

Hi all!!! Mike did show me a super fine route to get used to the bike again. I was very uncomfortable for the first 20 miles. Heel Toe shifter which I have never used before in my life. Brand new lace up high top boots which are stiffer than dried leather. just could not find the gears when I needed them. i have yet to find the foot brake while riding, the position of those floor boards instead of foot pegs it totally foriegn to me. However, I just may get used to them by the time i get back home in two weeks. I have to say, that those floorboards are totally awesome for riding comfort while cruising on the roads. Just getting my feet to know where to be when I need the foot brake, or to shift gears is super strange. Hand controls? My fingers did not know where to find them. My '94 had all the controls lit up, this 98 does not? why?? I gotta fix that if I can. It is totally dark, like pitch black in the backwoods here tonight, and not seeing the controls, and moving my fingers around trying to find all the switches was uncomfortable for me. but, Mike drove slow, kept me safe, double blinked his brake lights on every unsafe thing he saw. that let me hit the high beams and slow down at the same time. He is a super guy, very thoughtful. Tomorrow he is going to meet me here at the hotel and then lead me off to DMV so I can get a permit to drive it legally. night all!
