I've got the bike idling to warm up and I walk over and open the gates. I walk back to the bike and go to hop on. I put my left foot on the floorboard and the tip of my boot catches the shifter and drops it into gear. The bike lurches forward and the engine cuts out because of the side stand being down. However the forward movement of the bike is enough to retract the stand. I'm left struggling with the weight of the bike wanting to crush me as it starts to tip! Luckily, I realized what was happening and managed to right the bike before it went down. No harm done. A quick glance around to make sure no one saw me. What a way to start the season! ROTFLMAO!

no ,I'm too new at ownning a bike,I mean no disrespect but every thing I do is verry caerfull,However,my friends who have ridden all there lifes (almost) have both done slow crashes in front of me.I can tell you this, when ever you jump start a bike (a large one)put both legs over it like it might start, because if you jump on it side saddle(what ta he** he was thinking, ill never know) and she roars to life and starts to bank to the right, you look pretty damb funny with your legs streight up in tha air as you crunch to a stop 40 feet away.Ill never forget the look on his face,Man I laughed all night,my friend though skinned up and with a broken bike (throttle cable, carb tail light)found it kind of funny once we got back to the base.

Being cool one day, pulled into the drive ,around the van and hook the saddle bag guard on the rear fender. Turtled the 1100. Was so mad that I picked the 1100 up with no problem.

Not that I'd do something that dumb but if your 'Wing wants to lie down for a short rest the best thing you can do is get the heck out of it's way. It' really a dumb feeling laying in pain on your lawn with a sleeping 'Wing laying on your leg... don't ask, I ain't admitting it. Once at an intersection my1500 decided it wanted to ease on down. I managed to catch it with a foot on the ground and then began the biggest strain since my mom sieved the seeds outa ten quarts of blackberries. I mean I got real red faced and bug eyed straining with all my might while the 'Wing was accepting the dictums of Newton's discovery. It seemed to last a couple of eternities but was probably only a couple minutes while this titanic struggle was going on. The big red bike got about half way down to i's crash bars when with Herculean effort I managed to arrest its descent. Slowly... ever so slowly... with an immense effort, shaking and sweating, I began to overcome the obstinate machine. Barely visible at first the bike began to rise, majestically with the speed of a glacier receding in midwinter, it came upright. Two bystanders at an adjacent gas station who witnessed this battle between the forces of light and dark began to applaud. I was in no condition to take a bow and I was fervently hoping the bike wasn't either so we patiently waited until the next green light and left the battlefield taking our casualties with us.

With experience and time you will become an accomplished professional at dropping the bike , usually when there is a lot of people around. :waving:

But that is good, at least lots run to help.  And for three years they will laugh and joke about it.

All good, a part of riding the big girls.

When I first brought the 1500 home she decided to take a rest (three) times the first week. Not since though. Surprising how easy it is to pick up.

ME???? Drop my Wings???? The wings not yet, well almost not yet....I was pushing my red one into the tiny space in the small garage, lost my footing, it pinned me against the wall for a few seconds.....Now my Old GS-1000 Suzuki???? That ones a different story....Came in from a long ride one night pulled in on the driveway, came to a almost stop put my left foot down, my youngest son had left a toy car laying on the drive way.....Left foot went out from under me...Next thing I know that Suzuki was laying on top of me....then about 6 months later we had spread about 18 cubic yards of top soil/river sand in our yard, came in to the driveway got off the edge of the driveway into that new dirt....Yeah on top of me again..This time it went down on the right side.....Both times had to blow the air horns until my wife and neighbor came out to get it off of me...Yeah it counted both times.......I'm a Member....

Just for Giggles and Grins....Ever notice that no matter how close you are standing to your bike.....If it decides to lay down on its own, as kickstand sinking into the soil, you can never get your hands on it fast enough...Even though they seem to lay down in slow motion????....Seen 12 bikes lined up in a city park for a bike judging contest...The last bike in that line didn't put anything under his kick stand, his started over, striking the next bike and before any one could stop it all 12 were laying down....Mine was the first bike n line, last one up....
