Welcome Back, Everyone!!!:)

And thank-you, Steve for your tireless efforts to get us all back online!

Now, did anyone have any interesting experiences whilst we were all away?  Any cool rides?  Any scraped knuckles?

The most interesting thing that happened to me was I took a tumble down a few steps and in the process somehow managed to splash an entire mug of boiling tea down the left side of my face.  I now look rather like half a boiled lobster attempting to molt.  DOH!!!!

Surely you folks had BETTER experiences, right???

Please Share!!  :waving:

I burnt my chest today welding underneath my truck, a small bit of hot metal fell off and got thru my shirt and on my chest. Hurt like hell and I'll have a scar.
Coming over here is better than sitting in the emergency room. Now here I sit with a beer in one hand and keyboard in the other.

Its good to be back. I did wonder if the forum was down for good, and for once I am happy to be wrong.

Let's see...

I put about 500 miles on the 1200 and found it to be worthy of keeping.

In fact, I found myself wondering why I didn't ride a 1200 sooner.

Then I slept alot. :D

Went to the doctor for my annual physical and found out I have to change my ways. Never seemed to be a problem when the site was up and running. Must've given me a condition.

Fretted, stewed, worried, drifted to other "gasp!" forums. Tried to sleep,,,, couldn't had to get up and see if The Forum came back online..... fretted, stewed, fussed, tried to read Google News, Home town news, too many murders, CEOs getting the axe, jobs disappearing, refinancing ground to a halt, food cost index is higher,

Oh, the horrors of it all!!!!!!!!! Hooray! Our family is back together again, and now we can get on together again..

Was scheduled to lead a club ride. I went out to the garage to start the 'Ole Girl up. Let her warm up for a few seconds and went to mount her as usual, stepping on the left riders peg, when my foot 'slipped off' while I was just about to sit down  WTF?? I figured the rubber part of the peg somehow came/slipped off. :stumped:

I looked down and there was the peg, barely attached. Double WTF!!!

I got off the bike and grabbed hold of the peg and the peg came right off in my hand. Seemed they only run a bead of weld along the top of the peg, to the 'backing plate'. I threw it in my tank bag and headed off towards where we were supposed to meet, so my bud Les could maybe weld it back up before the ride. I figured I could use the highway peg for riding and just remove my foot for shifting. On my way down, I see Les coming towards me and he indicates that he is going to fill up at the gas station just back up the road a piece, so I pull a U-turn, but it is quite a bit wider than normal, due to not being able to put any downward pressure on the riders peg. While we are filling up, I showed him what had happened. He said we could go back to his shop, take it off, grind off the old weld and re-weld it and be back on the road in an hour. which we were. He ran a bead of weld around three sides.  Got to love a bud who has all the 'toys'.  :grinner:

All I could say(besides THANKS) was that I was lucky that it broke while in my garage and not while out riding along the highway. Could have been very dangerous if that had happened while shifting my weight around, never mind to think what would have happened if it went sailing back, bouncing off the road towards the riders following behind me.

Yup,   .......   I have good Bad Luck

Well I'd say you have good luck given the way it went down. Like you said could have been much worse but wasn't so look at it like the glass was half full. Glad all worked out for you anyway.

I finally turned the corner on QUITTING SMOKING!!!!! It was hell, but I made it!!!! I'm on week 2 of no nicotine of any type!!! My wife only asked me to start again once during the whole ordeal! I don't think I was grouchy. I am munching all the time though! Sure glad to be done with that habit! Every time I wanted a cig, I'd check the forum status instead! Nice to be back! jimsjinx
