Littlejohn, is the Re-Vision product your wife sells available in Canada?  I'm really getting ticked with all the tiny scratches in my new windshield and have just about given up finding a suitable cleaner.  Re-Vision sounds as if it may do the trick.

Hello All !
In the Danish Goldwing Club some members use the product as mentioned below PLEXUS. Its very good especially for cleaning of the windshield it dont make scratches and leave the surface totally without any reflection. Compare to Hondas own wax cleaner this one is better. You can also use it for a quick brusch up of the chrome and painted surfaces. See this link: http://www.plexusplasticcleaner.com/frames.html

Below quotation from the WEB side
Plexus® was developed for use in the aviation industry - specifically, for cleaning and protecting aircraft windshields and painted surfaces. As Plexus became more and more popular, people quickly discovered it could be used on a limitless variety of plastic surfaces. Since then, Plexus has continued to grow in popularity, and today it is recognized as the most effective plastic cleaner, protectant and polisher on the market.

I can highly recommand it you should try it !

Keener Member I can't answer that one ref Canada but my wife's company is called Dychem and originated in the USA around 20yrs ago.  It was bought out locally by the GB managment team and is now based in Luton.   I believe the mother company is still operating in the USA but is concentrating mainly on Heavy Goods Vehicle Washing equip these days.

Cairan, Janet can get Re-Vision but needs to get confirmed orders of aound 100-Litre bottles to make it viable with delivery costs etc.  What I bring to the Treffens is one litre bottles I collect that are surplus from orders taken from customers and they are sold on for the local club charity.  I also only have space in the trailer for a limited ammount of bottles but if you give me a shout at Limerick I should have a few with me if you're quick off the mark.   I have been to the N Wales and Alba Wing-dings and I have 3 bottles left but will try and gather a few more before Limerick.  Most members like it and if they don't it's only a fiver with the charity benefiting from the sale.

http://www.stylinconcepts.com has the "rejex" product that you are looking for and they are good to buy from. However the product that I like best for windshield or helmet shields is "Mothers" plastic polish or "Mequires"(not sure on the spelling) plastic polish, it will remove the small swirls that occur over time and it very inexpensive, you are however on your own as to who carries those products in your area;)

Here's the sales pitch on the Rejex:

 • Once stubborn bug splats easily wash or wipe away.
 • Protects painted, glass and chrome surfaces.
 • Creates an invisible layer that protects & adds shine.
 • Originally designed for the Air Force, and still used to protect the surface of the Black Hawk helicopters.
Not quite a polish. Not quite a wax. It’s actually an advanced polymer that creates an invisible barrier of protection against dirt, bug splats and other contaminants that can stain your paint and ruin your vehicle’s finish. It works by coating your vehicle with a finish so slick that bugs, tree sap and road grime simply won’t stick to it. RejeX eliminates the need to wax and creates a high gloss finish that provides deeper looking color longer than simply waxing or polishing.

Sounds real good.

I ended up buying Meguiar's PlastX.  Tried it after a run on Sunday and can advise it works like a damn!

Tony:  I found it at Canadian Tire.  You should also get a few terrycloth pads for application and Meguiar's microfibre cloth for polishing off the excess.  I've just used it on our son's ZX6R windshield and helmet visor after he came up from Sicamous and both of us are very impressed with the results.

NEWSFLASH

In relation to the REVISION product supplied by my wife Janet.  We have arranged for a supply of between 100 - 150 bottles to be delivered to the GB Treffen Site on Wednesday for sale by myself.  It will be sold at £5.50 a bottle and 2 bottles for £10 with profits made going to the charity on the day.  Some members have nabbed some from me already at the Irish Treffen and I can gaurantee it works brilliantly on all chrome and plastic surfaces.  You just spray it on from a 1 litre bottle and wipe it off.

Please come and see me under the N Ireland flag if you want some as I don't want to have to bring any home with me.  I have the safety data on it and it is completely harmless to you screen and chrome.  It does not effect the coating on your screen whatsoever and I have been using it on my bikes for 4yrs without any problems.  It leaves a completely smear free result and I have yet to have anyone get it and not be impressed by it.  Please put the word out that it will be available and for a worthy cause.  Those of you who have it already can always buy more or even pay for it this time :D

I am going looking for that at my local CTC store. I just went next door to my neighbours shed and looked at his bottle of plastic cleaner, that I had used a bit of a few days ago-not on my windshield. It is a product called "Plastic Gloss" at $15 per liter, and made by Active chemical limited. It is used specifically to provide a "brilliant shine to all plastic and painted surfaces". Caution, it says-contains petroleum distillates and polydimethylsiloxane. But it must be OK for windshields. I will try on an old windscreen I have and see. He uses it on his ATV

Hawker 22:  Since I last posted about Meguiar's PlastX, I've found something even better thanks to the tips on this website.  It's called Plexus and does a great job.  I got it at the local Yamaha shop for $10.95 a 198g spray can.  I've been using it most of the summer (what little we had!) and the windshield on my 1984 GL1200A looks just as good as new.  I've found that it's best taken off with a microfibre cloth available at Canadian Tire.  No scratches at all.

Have been using a new product by "McGuires" called "Generation X" "SPEED DETAILER" 100% Polymer, works great, easy to wipe off and very quick !:clapper:

At Auto Parts stores.

Don't confuse it with "McGuires Spray Wax", I don't like it at all!

Every small airport has windscreen cleaner.  Pilots use it on thier aircraft, which have plastic windshields.  It does not scratch and there is no glare.  Its not cheap though as you can imagine, but it really is a good product.

I use Plastic Polish, Type I, Liquid , if the title sounds military, it's because it is. This stuff works great on clear plastic.

Another trick is a large wet towel. Drape a large wet towel over your windscreen, go have a cup of tea. When you return, 99.9% of the bug spatter will rinse off with a gentle hose. That is with no release agent whatsoevcer, so any release agent just makes it better. No need for even detergent on the towel, just dripping wet and draped completely over the screen.

I have found a product that works very well it is called CRL SurfaceProtector, I have been using it on aircraft windscreens for some time and it works well, totally repells water in fact  we use it on our vehicle windscreens, when it is raining, we could almost get away without using the wipers,  Excellent on a boat windscreen no glare etc ..The site is---

   http://www.crlaurence.com/ProductPages/showLine.asp?GroupID=4323&Path=::13799::4323..

I have a 475 ml spray can of it and it has lasted for 4 years as you only need a very small amout of it ..(cost in New Zealand  $22.00) Important to first clean the windscreen throughly ..  Happy vision:cooldj:

Lemon Pledge furniture polish.

Really, don't knock it till you try it.

Just make sure not to use anything with ammonia in it and alcohol is not the best either.
