I seem to get better mileage in warmer weather than cooler and 5th gear and speeds below 60 seems to help also. Politicians have been buying votes with tax money for a long time. Ethanol and farm price supports help keep farmers happy and the government manipulating basic supply and demand of commodities. These guys are drunk on their own power and will do anything to keep it. The country's future is a small price to pay so they can keep their jobs!

Can't really comment on MPGs, however, I do have 2 GL1200 Aspys. The one I leave in Florida and the other in New York. The one I leave in Florida I had in NY for about a year. It ran good, but didn't run like my other bike. It was a little more quirky, even though I did a carb synch and tune up. When I took it to Florida last year and started using non-ethanol fuel, I noticed that it started running alot better, in fact, not having done another thing to it in the last year, and I mean not even changing the plugs, I can honestly say that the bike left in Florida runs just as good, if not better, than the one in NY. I tell you now, this is not my imagination! It does run that good with me doing absolutely nothing! I can only attribute it to the fact of using non ethanol fuel for the last year. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

Its been a year now and looking for some UPDATES. Noticable change, haven't tested. 11 (26.83%)
____________________ FVM 07-2009 _ _ Titled: "OIL CHANGE?" Know its new taste, and be loyal, you'll know when, to change that oil. Taste testing as the miles flow, souring as that acid grows. And don't flirt with dirt or darkened oil, all the faster your engine will spoil. If that soured oil turns to paste, new motors cost plenty, what a waste. If friends find out, thy honor baste.(*) Best get to it, with undue haste! __(*)thrashed - Updated Jan-2-2012___ |
