You can see from my avatar what I chose to do when I started having problems keeping the bike upright.

As for the trike - we are happy with it. I found getting used to driving it to take about 2 miles but I have had 4 wheelers or snowmobiles most of my life and the driving of the trike is exactly like either of them. I can ride the trike in the twistys just about as well as most guys ride two wheels. It did take a while to gain confidence that it was not going to roll over but now I feel good to go.

I wish I had access to try a sidecar rig out. I think my wife would like it better especially on those days when the weather gets a little grumpy. We could also take a grandchild or two along if we had a sidecar. I just am not sure how much difference in handling there would be and Whether I would like the difference or not.

Chewman;
Right behind you and I sure ain't quitting my riding. I have come very close to laying it down especially when the bike is cold and it hesitates just about the time I think it should be going (really fun in slow-tight right hand turns).
Last weekend I put it down on the left side at 0mph during the advanced training course and ended up cracking the left valve cover. Waiting for my hip to heal-up a bit before I get down there and replace the covers.
I am hack'n this ride ASAP as the wife and son want to go along and I can't get everything I want onto a trike.
Saving coins now and taking it easy until I can get a third wheel beside me.
Be safe and take it easy - old bones just ain't what they used to be.

For me, I gave up riding in 2001 when I started dealing with my MS.  Time has passed and my mobility and feelings improved and I realized I missed being on a bike.  Two years ago I threw caution to the wind and bought a GoldWing.

As long as I can walk I will not be without a motorcycle.  When the time comes that I can't keep a bike up-right I will move up to a trike and I won't give it a second thought.  Riding keeps a smile on my face. :cheesygrin:

You might consider getting a Can Am Spyder. They are pretty cool bikes, and very smooth to ride.

Hack here. So much character if you pick the right one.

I had surgery on my femur arteries. They were clogged up and the dr. said that I had P.A.D. (Perifenaul artery desease) and bought a 87 GW trike. Never had a trike before, but I can honestly say that I would never ride anything but. My wife is 55 and never rode a bike until I bought the Goldwing Trike. Now she wants me to buy a new one. She's already planning all of these trips. Trike It, You'll Like It.

As a full R/L amputee trike or walk were my only options. My wife rides a 2010 Yamaha V-star 950 touring package motorcycle. She was recenty Dx with severe RA and some days struggles to get out of bed. Looking into a tow-pac for her bike as 1: she loves her ride and 2: there are days when she is just fine and could ride two wheels. Offered to let her ride with me but she loves to be the master of her own fate. Two. three or even four wheels, it doesn't matter as long as you enjoy the ride.
