may's well go with the 12 if thats what your heart desires. The styling will catch on and the 10 will be dated like the 1500 are now.
Oh and I have a 1500 and I mostly like it's look's cept from the rear. Man it's like a chick with and increadably hot face and she turns around and has a major cabose. I;m almost imbarrased if it;s parked in the drive and I ride up on one of my other bikes.

I am actually surprised some 2012'ers (thats a word I just made up) have not chimed in, but there are some differences that are substantial to some people, others not. Besides the increase in saddlebag capacity, I believe the rear suspension is upgraded, and they are using an all new material to the seat. It did feel more comfy to me, but it was a new bike of course.

Any 2012'ers out there want to comment on the seat ?:?

The first noticable difference was the seat. The 10 was softer than the 12 but they both seemed to be quite comfy. I can not say if it is an improvement or not just different.
The 10's cruise lagged bad before it caught up and the 12 surged and took me by surprise. Use to it now and I have read it will go away with more miles.
The 10 had a real bad idle fluctuation I figured that was an easy dealer fix. They both had a touch of a decel wobble. Neither was bad the 12 a little less.
They both seemed to be about the same for wind protection. I know it is supposed to be improved but i couldn't really tell much difference.
They both rode and handled what seemed to be the same to me. If there is an improvement I didnt spend enough time in the saddle on the 10 to find it.
I would be pretty proud to have my butt parked in either saddle. If I already had a nice bike set up the way I wanted it, I doubt that I would change. I didn't care much for my bmw so it was no big deal to me.
This is just my opinion after a nice test ride yours will probably differ.

Take the money you would spend on it. Invest it wisely and retire early. Then buy the new bike when you have the time to ride it every day!

I own a 1986 Aspy. Have had it for 5 years. Upgrading soon to a middle 1990's 1500, only plan on less than $2000 out of pocket. Will do it again in five years. By the time I retire I will be driving a new model and have only put out a few bucks to own it! Plus I will have experienced the good, the bad and the ugly of four different generations of wings.
