Deer are pesky critters enough.  And hornets sting mighty fierce.

Hate to think about a Hornet Deer...

That would hurt! :lash:
They'd be flying instead of just skittering across in front of ya!

And has anybody installed a cigarette lighter on their 1500?  Is it quite easy to do?  I'm probly gonna have to get someone to help.  Where's a good place to put a cigarette lighter?

Thanx

I have both on mine. They were there when I bought it. They are on the chrome pieces in front of the side marker lights. I have'nt been aiming for aqny deer so I don't KNOW if they work. I do know this though. A woman here at work had them ON her cars and hit a deer with BOTH of them, so I am lead to believe they may ATTRACT the deer. I put a lighter adapter in the left soft pocket. It's hard wired to the battery so it always works. Now I don't use the lighter socket for anything but charging the gps and the mp-3. I quit smoking years ago, thank goodness.

I have a lighter socket inside each of the front pockets. I use them for accessory power, not for lighting cigarettes so having it where it is easily and quickly grabbed is not a problem for me.

a good place for the deer alerts is your TRASH BIN !
With your weigth i would set the air around 30 - 40 psi , and for high speed riding i would set it around 70 - 80 psi , - the bike is more stable , on high speed , the more air you have in ! (all messures with bike on centerstand , and rear wheel of the ground ).
BUT how much you or others want is personal ( or by an 1800 where this WERY nice system , is chanced to something more cheap an uncomfortable ).

Good places for parts and acc. is: Cyclemax Ohio , or hdl.parts , or wingstuff - all US compagnies (look them up on the internet )

happer, find someplace close by like a parking lot with lots of room.you will find that it takes a little more speed to keep balanced but with practice it comes natually.stop ping at stop signs or lites was a little getting used to,best way i found, don't slow down to soon and keep up enough speed to stay balanced and come to a controlled

'quick" stop. practice makes for comfortable riding.practice, practice, practice and enjoy:thumbsup:

Living in deer country where cars and motorcycles hit deer almost everyday and many times a day when rutting season is in for the deer and the hunting season causes them to be stirred up one finds deer whistles on many of the vehicles hit.

What it amounts to is the odds. The odds of hitting a deer that is. Since most motorists will never hit a deer with or without those whistles if you do not hit a deer you can claim they work. And if you hit a deer you just do not put them back on.

Just last year we had a former sheriff and now a common deputy who was more crooked than anyone in his jail and liked to beat up his girl friends, was traveling on a country road on his harley faster than the law and common sense allowed and had a deer run out in front of him. The deer survived but the cop did not. We all figured it was the deer's hit buck assigned to get even for all of the deer the guy poached while on duty. He had deer whistles and straight pipes and neither worked to prevent the strike.

Happer, I went from a 400cc Maxi Scooter to a GL1200 and thought it was way to big for me too. Wing friends suggested I just spend some time in the saddle and 3000 miles and 2 months later, I sold my 1200 and bought my 1500. I just sold the scooter and am not looking back as I am now a born again Winger.

The best place for those deer whistles , is in your garbage can at home .

Iff you want the ligther for ligtning cigarettes , put it where you can reach it while riding . - iff you want it for powerring up things , put it where dusty shoved , or ewen better on the inside of the trunk LID .- that way you dont have ro remove ewerything in the trunk , to use it .
