Why, I don't know, but in Barstow, they have the world's tallest thermometer, I don't know if it is because they have the world's tallest temperatures :baffled:

But anyway, my time with 82winginvegas was coming to and end and I was looking forward to new adventures with Whitewinger.

George, thanks for taking the time out to look after me, it was great fun :clapper:

Wow Lincoln- that's some news.....

Have you been assigned to Iraq, beginning in August?  :?  I assume your wife and kids would remain where they are, in Germany, for the duration?  If it's  happening, for sure, I'm counting on you being assigned to a pretty dang secure airbase, ok?

I've lost track of Hobo....last reported, he was in California...."Hobo, oh Hobo, wherefore art thou, Hobo"? :dude:

Geordiemuppet (Paul) is his "registered keeper", as they say in the UK, and he may have some idea.  The theory, as I heard it, was that he was to be returned to me by the 3rd week in July, to keep me company on my flight to Gatwick a week later....he is required to attend the Welsh Meet n' Greet, the first weekend of August.  I suspect that there will be a great deal of frivolity, merrymaking, and well, alcohol (after ride, of course) so....I doubt he'd want to miss that!

You could (we could) enquire of Paul if there are further plans....I know that he is expected to attend the USA rally in Georgia, at the end of September.....:baffled: :baffled:

I will be actually riding right by your current locale this summer, but it will probably be on the 14th or 15th of August, and it sounds like you may have already relocated, by then....????

Never hurts to ask, and he (Hobo) is quite used to flying/being posted about, now. I've no idea if Geordiemuppet is used to flying, although I believe he piloted what we Yanks would call a PT Boat, for the Royal Navy....must be similar, due to horsepower?

Take care of you, Lincoln, and say howdy to your wife and kiddles, who must be in, ummm, college by now? :cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1:

You're a great guy, and Pete and Helen and Pete haven't forgotten you....:waving:

Pete,

It is just the standard Air Force deployment, and I could end up anywhere in the region.  I will just be gone for 4 months, and not being doing much "outside the wire" so to speak.

We do not have any firm dates yet, and I can not place them here due to security reasons when they do come up, but I should be here when you come by.  I owe you a ride along the Mosel River still, so..... I really should not leave until early september.

As far a Hobo goes, if he comes to visit me in unpleasant parts of the world, I may even be able to get him a ride in a fighter on a combat mission.  Just a gee whiz thing.

The twins are getting big, no doubt there.  They are pretty funny, and always charming the ladies.  Just ask Tanygaer and his daughter.:cheeky1::cheeky1:

We have not forgotten you or the fox, or Helen.  We hope to get together with everyone when we can.  And, as always, the Home For Wayward Wingers is always open.
