Buddy - you could send him on up here and I'll show him around southern Manitoba for a bit.  I'm heading off to the west coast (in the cage albeit) the first week of July and could pass him off to one of our other Canadian members in BC or AB at that time.

Let's see what other offers come by then let me know ;)

Does this include the UK Linc, cause I am sure we can find you accomadation at either end of the country.

Just don't bring them to girl hunting twins with you, else we will all have to lock up our daughters.

Would be great to see you and have the chance to repay some of your hospitality

David

Where ever Hobo goes, it should be in North America and he MUST be with Motorcycle Pete in Oregon by the third week of July so he can travel to the Welsh Meet N Greet.

He will scrounge a lift with Motorcycle Pete back to England for the Welsh Meet n Greet.

Go to the British Treffen with GM, Christine & Vasco.

Go to the Luxembourg Treffen with GM, Christine & Vasco.

Scrounge a lift with our esteemed Forum Diplomat to Cyote 61's for this huge Meet n Greet in the US and then plan from there.

So folks, if you want Hobo to visit with you, contact White Winger and make it happen.

I don't believe he's been to Washington state yet, so if he's going to Canada East, and then to Canada West, maybe his keeper in Canada West can meet up with me?  Is that where he's headed?

John

OK - thinking more about this . . .  Shipping Hobo to Winnipeg from Cali will probably take about 2 weeks (and thats on a wing and a prayer) so this isn't going to work this time.  I'd hate to set out for the coast on June 27th if Hobo hadn't made it here yet :baffled:

Button Lady- as far as I know, all (well most of) the photos taken thus far are contained within this thread; if you "page back a few", you should see some fine ones, from both the left and right coasts of America, plus a fair bit of the mid-section!  Anyone who knows better, please correct me.....I definitely stand to be corrected, always! :cheeky1:  (Hey, focus on what you do best in life, right? ;) )

I think his "official keeper" Geordiemuppet, is basically saying that it is critical that he be back in Wales for the Meet N' Greet, at the very end of July.

That doesn't necessarily prevent him, say, travelling with Lincoln, (Stinky151) our favorite American Airbase firefighter stationed in Germany- thankfully, I believe he mostly gets to train and practice? :clapper: :dude:  If he were posted to Europe promptly, Lincoln could send him back to Silverfox or Geordiemuppet, in time.  So, I'm just pointing out that the possiblities are nearly endless, as long he shows up!  It's ok by me, if he's a bit "hung over" :cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1:

If he's on the west coast of the USA, it sounds to me like that Canadian possiblities BC, AB, MB, SK) are also fine, as long as someone can deliver him to me in Medford Oregon (or post him so that I have him in my possession by say, the end of the third week in July).  If he ends up within 300 miles of me, which would include California north of the Bay Area, or Portland Oregon and south, I'd be glad to come "fetch him"....any excuse for a ride! :dude:

MKBWatts- the USA has eliminated "surface mail" to Canada, so it's first class/priority or nothing....it has actually helped, in terms of shipping times; it generally takes 3-7 days, now, so he's not likely to be delayed.  The shipper would have to research the rates, but they shouldn't be terribly high.

The same situation exists with Europe- Priority Mail takes 7-10 days, Expedited/Express takes about 4, to the UK....you need to look at the rates, again, but our lil Bear is one light guy....I'm guessing maybe $20-30 max, to Europe, and possibly less by priority (cheapest we can do, now).  If he is stuffed in a box (he's used to it, and he's "self padding" :cheeky1:)  North Europe post is excellent, and safe, so Germany and Benelux would definitely be on the list, as well.   One can go online with the weight and dimensions, to the US Postal Service site, plug in the numbers (you'll need dimensions, weight, and destination address) and see for oneself.... my medium heavy boxes of motorbike bits to Silverfox of 5-8 lbs, and about a half million dollars of bits each, run me $50-70 per box, but that's the "yesterday air" registered insured Express service.....

Please be sure, if you mail him, to include your return address (so that he not end up in the "dead bear" (I mean letter) box, and if it's cheap to "register" it, or similar that would be appreciated, as well.....don't wanna lose our BEAR!

Just something to thing about......I'm assuming Geordiemuppet is ok with this input, and if not, I hope he will chime in, promptly, and correct me! :baffled::goofygrin:

I was hoping to be able to get in on a relay with the little fellow but it looks like a good bit of the rest of this riding season is taken up.  We need to coordinate a bit better, I could easily hand him off to Endwell Tim or Button Lady or one of the Pittsburgh PA area folks or even into Ohio.  I think it would be cool if we could handle him like that, riding in a box in the back of a mail truck does not sound glamorous enough for our mascot.
