Hi, just to let you all know what is going on............
I rode home from Ireland with Silverfox and Helen the Viking on their . After we crossed the Irish Sea, we called in to see Mr & Mrs Rave on the way home - you can see a photo of them entertaining me in my gallery and I have to say they where excellent hosts.
Then it was back to Croydon to meet up with Motorcycle Pete for our flight across the pond. Wow, what a long journey that was - my longest yet.
Very busy with Pete at the moment, I will post my adventures here just as soon as I have a free moment.
Your Mascot, Hobo.

***HOBO NEEDS A RIDE!***
I am pleased to announce that Hobo arrived safe and sound in the USA at 0430 BST Monday (2030 local) in Medford Oregon (near the northern California border).
Amazingly, he avoided the indignity of a TSA baggage search...first time in 5 flights, so, thanks, Hobo!
I plan to take him to a local recreational path, the Bear Creek Greenway, in the next two days, for a photo op, and possibly to meet fellow bruins?
He says he likes the idea of as many handoffs as possible, rather than being "posted" (until necessary, of course). North, south, east, west (ok, only slightly west, he's not a big swimmer), he's good with all of it.
Any takers?!! Can hand off/deliver within 100 miles, this weekend. Send me a PM....let's get our Bear moving!!

Wow, Rudy! Thanks for the, erm, offer??!!
I suspect his parents, Christine and Geordiemuppet, may require a letter from, um, your mom? Your local police department? before I'm permitted to "post" him to you.....I believe the general concept is his gets to keep travelling, in one piece. I presume they mean one three-dimensional piece?

I think it would be fun to start a world map, with a push pin graphic that shows where hobo has been. We would have to figger a way to communicate the locations accurately, but I would be willing to do the graphics.
If someone will let me know all the places so far, and then pm me with new locations, I will add a page to my personal site to host the photo, and update as needed...

Wow, he's been there a week with no ride? What gives?
Hobo, I'm sure someone will be stomping and shaking to try and take you for a ride soon.
Must have some members near enough to meet up, maybe people are just away because of the long weekend. I'll post a map to show your current location, maybe that'll wake somebody up...Attachment: medford.jpg (Downloaded 144 times)

If someone can give him a ride to Redding, Ca., I'll come get him and give him a ride to the SF Bay Area. Maybe I'll include a tour of San Francisco and a ride on a trolly car! Any help here?

Hi Bob-
I asked Hobo about this, and he says "great"! I had to wait a minute; as he was lapping up another pint! He is One..... Thirsty..... Bear!
He seems to be a bit of a "camel" tho, and can go for reasonable periods without libation/lubrication....well, ok, he does squeak a bit, at times!
Anyone else like to get involved in a southern Oregon to Bay Area Bear relay?

I'm locked up on Saturday but I should be ready to bake my brains out in some 100 degree weather on Sunday.

Nice to see that Hobo might at last be moving on, Motorcycle Pete is a great host I am sure, but the bear just has to keeep moving and living up to his name.
I am afraid Hobo left these shores without a passport, so could someone be kind enough to issue him with one, so he can keep a record of where he has been, just a little note book is all this illustrious member would need to keep him moving.

Hobo is "ambassador sans portfolio" and doesn't need no stinkin' passport. Everybody here probably confuses him with 'Smokey the Bear' and they wave him through. Must be nice!

Besides, if he was an illegal...what would be his native tongue?
