I have had the pleasure of meeting Wingnut, and jnr. and the illustrious Wexman and i can honestly say that they are all great fun to meet with and if anyone gets the chance they should make the effort to try to meet them at one of the Meet & Greets.
Wingnut appears very reserved and almost shy, for someone who owns and runs what is indubitably the best all round Wing site in the World.
Jnr. is a likable rogue, who has an unusual ability ( for kids these days) to be able to chat with anyone and is a credit to his father, top notch lad.
Wexman.... now there is a character if ever I met one!!!!
From the moment I first clapped eyes on him, as we exited the ferry from Wales, his flaying arms directing us on to the garage at the top of the hill, bellowing at the top of his voice like a demented Sgt Major, barking out his orders to keep us in line!!! We soon came to realise that he is a cross between an SS Grupenfuherer and an overgrown Leprechaun!! It is easy to see why he is a key figure in the Wing world in Ireland and a particularly persuasive salesman.
Trust me, his axe is sharp, but he mostly keeps it in it's leather pouch, prefering to sit and spin a yarn than wield the axe.
Many of you will have the "pleasure" of meeting Ciaran in America in September and I urge any that are still just thinking about it, to ride on in and meet the guy.
It is a shame that it looks like Steve and Jnr. won't be able to join the party, but hopefully next time.........
It is great fun being part of this world wide community, with all it's ups and downs and everything in between and I take this opportunity to thank Steve for supporting it, time and money wise. Don't forget that donation button at the bottom of the page folks, I am sure a few $$$ or £££ goes a long way to helping if you can spare it. I try to pop a few bob in the pot as and when I can.

Hey Steve or Ciaran (whoever reads this first), how did you guys meet? Have you known one another long or is it Goldwing onwnership or the forum that brought you in contact first. Also do you get to meet up often? Ireland looks kinda small on the map and I guess you meet up at least occasionally.
I think many of us would like to know the story behind this, if you feel like sharing it with us.

Ta Pete, you've made a friend for life. My yearly school report is usually good but they always put the little note at the end "Dylan likes to talk in class." My dad says I'm a yapper but that I never let him down when we are in company, so I feel good about that.
As for dad being shy, well maybe a bit when you first meet him he might feel awkward. Then he warms up and he likes to have a laugh. He doesn't like discos or stuff like that and I don't think he like a being centre of attention. There was this surprise birthday for him one time when I was about 10 and he hated the thoughts of making the speech. When he did speak it was fine and got the people laughing, but after wards he told me that he felt really out of place.
Ciaran isn't shy at all. He is funny and everyone likes him and he is able to arrange things and get people to take part. He says what he thinks and does what he says he will do and that makes him funny.

Hi it was through Goldwing ownership that we met (ok ok so it was a blind date )
Steve had the old site up and running and I both of us are members of the Goldwing Owners Club of Ireland and a lot of us use to meet for breakfast on a Sunday morning in the center of Dublin (even though I live 65miles away ) and myself and Steve got talking and he said he was relaunching the site and was looking for a moderator (I thought a moderator mixed cement or something ) and he already knew I was one who took no crap from anyone He briefly explained (over a cuppa tea) what was involved and me always been one to take on a challenge said ok ,and the rest as they say is History ,We see each other fairly often ,and if their is a crisis on the board (Taffy ,chuck211,scoutguy,dave in the ditch etc ) we call each other .
When REDWING applied for the job as a Guru ,we had to interview him and he failed miserably he did not even know how to get a wing into reverse but then again we asked him about the reverse on a 1100 ,But he was so bloody annoying ,we had to give him some kind of status ,so he got FORUM WELCOMER ,He welcomes everybody with open arms (and mouth) and once you are welcome he then lets fly with the and that ends the welcome
Over the years I have met a lot of really nice people from the forum .At the meet n greet last year in Killarney we had a great time with our overseas visitors ,Silverfox...Helen the viking ,Shreck snr and his lovely wife,Geordiemuppet and Christine and their little gem of a daughter ,Kathy(vasco) and Mike Johnston and his wife from the States ,and we must not forget motorcycle(sleep with a pint of guinness on my chest) Pete. They are all great fun to be with and we really took the Mick out of Foxy and Helen ,but they were great sport and took in all in their stride even if Helen slept for almost the entire trip
I am so looking forward to Calhoun in Sept ,Myself and Fabienne collected our tickets yesterday and everything is go ,so roll on Sept ,
Their are so many charachters here on the forum ,RUDY,TAFFY,SILVERFOX,REDWING,HOBIE,Dennis the menace, tan y gaer, digby, ubarw,EXAVID,cc sailor, etc etc it makes my job fun .(well except for Taffy who gave me cardiac arrest on so many occassions )
All in all you are a great bunch of friends and are always willing to help out a fellow biker(rider, motorcyclist) at the drop of a hat .
Keep it up and well done to you all for making this the best and friendliest Goldwing forum on the www. Ciaran

ZZZZzzzzzz!!! Ooooops sorry did I miss something only I fell asleep just after the words Blind Date!!!
That has got to take the record for the longest post ever made by Wexman, but I did notice one mistake.... Vasco is Katie ,not Kathy, unless she has changed her name by deed poll.
I can only assume that Wingnut feasts on Muesli at the Sunday breakfast runs, since he is still slim and trim, or maybe it is just the stress of what the next troll or spammer might say!!!
Good old Ax...ooops sorry... Wexman on the other hand, obviously enjoys a good old fashioned full Irish at the breakfast meets, but at least he should have healthy gums, what with al the cow juice he consumes.
So you thought you were gonna be mixing concrete did you?.... well there is certainly some stiring goes on here, but it aint usually concrete, just conctetus manureus!!!

Yes I remember it about the same as Ciaran. The high point for me would have to be Killinarney last year as that was the first time I met some of the forum members in person.

I agree. When I met Steve in Crete, at first he was a tad wary and reserved. But he warmed up quickly and I found him really friendly once the ice was broken. Dylan was instantly talkative and very likable and he doesn't let himself or his dad down when in company. he didn't stray far from his dad and checked back in regulary, and Steve had a watchful eye on him all the time. I got the feeling that not much gets past the wingnuts watchful gaze.

Eh well did it never occur to you that maybe it's because we were tipped off that a large Englishman was stalking us for 2 days? Oh and you were lucky you came up to us looking friendly as there were a few big family friends there just itching to fight someone. All it would have taken is the special nod, or was it a wink?
