You will need a particularly big red flag Hawker... it was Wexman that started the thread, not Wingnut!!!
Sorry mate I couldn't resist
No problem Foxy. Just another senior moment. But I knew it came from a BIG WIG.
Sorry 'bout that Axe.
So if the Axe replies, will that be a case of "touchee" or "toupee"?
Sounds like you are on a strict travel program John..... leaving at 06.00 not even time for a hearty fulll English breakfast!!!! No doubt the aches and pains will give you a rather strange sleep pattern for a while, so make the most of it when you can.
Look faward to hearing from you at the end of your road trip, when you are resting up proper.

THIS THREAD IS GROSSLY OVER RATED
AS TO IT'S ENTERTAINMENT VALUE
I sent a text message to FAHQ this morning.
To you uninitiated non-fire department types,
That means Fire Alarm Head Quarters.
Text of Message:
The reports of my demise have been grossly
over exaggerated. I am hereby reporting from the
Valley of Death and if you challenge me, I will
Haunt you until you die
I am told that all sense of Decorum immediately
evaporated in the Halls of Justice, and FAHQ.
Within an hour, cellphone erupted with such a
volume of mirth that I could scare keep down
the noises from its' internal speaker..... said
emanations did cause to interrupt the sleeping
libations of my sister Josie and her hubby Greg.
They both have taken over the ownership of
my Bose Noise Canceling headsets. Now
when I cast my eyes over in their general direction,
I can only see those tiny LED's in the general
locations of their sleeping heads. They are refusing
to take part in my merry mirth activities. Such a
bunch of kill joys they are
How dare they think that they should be able to
sleep at this hour of the day, why it is only 0434
hours on this new day. How dast they have such
an irreverant attitude at this new day.
I am wide eyed awake, full of villianous mirth making
and they want to jus lie there and continue to
sleep and get more rest????????????
I do not know what to make of such misguided
intentions..... sigh... oh well, I am now off to the
land of happy keyboards, I am going to tickle the
keys until they finally awaken and move my butt
to the car and we undertake the trip to get much
closer to their Utah Ranch. They profess to be n
needing to get back to active gainful employment:
They seem to think that money is the root of a
happy existence.
In truth, I did hear a word or two that said if all
of the mortgages were to ever be paid on their
digs, they would surely enjoy a much more
pleasant retirement of their own.
Ah so, we all worship the devil of the Golden Coin,
and I suppose it has been thus for eons and many
a varied land's occupants.

Silverfox, you are of the Golden Tongue and truer words were never spoken. I have become a lover of the back seat of their car. It is an awesome vehicle.
Rides as though it had clouds for tires and pavement does not exist. It is a Kia Amanti, it has all the features of the Lexus, 8 SRS airbags, entertainment package that equals anything I have ever heard. I surely just might want to entertain acquiring one for myself. i just found a link to the factory blurb on their car here http://tinyurl.com/cqe6s
Yes, I think I shall lay down in the back seat. Put the neck collar on that Josie bought for me to keep my concussion area from touching anything, pull up that lap robe she got at Walmart last night, and start counting Taffy's sheep
Taffy, where are you??? I need your weird brand of humor........

I'm glad to hear that you're getting along good, AZ. I hope you got my text a while back (back when this thread was only 4 pages long). I wish I had the means to drop by in person but I'm afraid I'll have to stick with text and spirit.
I guess it slipped my mind that you are my brother in the fire service as well as a brother winger. That's like a double whammy.
Get better soon.

Well you just hurry up and get yourself installed at the ranch. All you will require from Josie is wireless internet connection, a nice comfy chair on the portch (or in front of a log fire if cold) and sit there perusing the for sale adds on that car and bash out some good stuf on here for our entertainment and edification.
Off to take "hop along" Helen the Viking for a nice trip out in her comfy Saab car.

I was merely pointing out diplomatically that Hawker had made a little faux pas, now shouldn't you be fulfilling your entry level role, of saying hello to some newbies.
Remind me by the way, how was it you came to be demoted some while ago.

As I type this, it is 00:40 in the early hours of black majic. I woke up with sore aching muscles and my rear buns are screaming "waves of pain". The only way I have been able to make either of those ease off is to get out of that bed and start walking. I made two trips to the toilet and exercised my up/down techique which forced more muscle action into the legs and knees. The bathroom of a hotel Mariott is exceptionally friendly for my style of using it lately. It has a HUGE hand grab bar on the left side, and the sink counter is very robust and has a narrow edge surface between the edge and where the top overhangs the sink bowls. In other words, it was made to order for the special physical therapy I needed tonight.
Now that the pain has subsided, my back is getter warm again (put on my Fire Dept bomber jacket) I am 'awake and needed www' sustenance.
So, I am now impugning up on you unlucky devils more of my style of weird spellings, odd twists of humor and just plain keyboard tickles.
Again, Penske 1, Goldwing 0.
However, my internal "MAD Mental
State just keeps 'improving' if that is an acceptable way of stating I am going to be the worst thing to ever happen to Penske Trucking. They took my work life from me and are trying to steal my pension. I have asked my special supporters for advise in the unique field of 'personal injury law'. The ball has started to roll down the football field and I am going to pick it up and no way in hell am I going to be tackled before I reach the goal line.
Today was a great day in many ways. My family was all together for a family portrait at my mother's house. Mom is 89 and a residence of Fountain Home Foster Care, 8129 E. Fountain St., Mesa, AZ; 85207. He personal room teleco number which I arranged for months ago is:
480 986 2235
I am sure that a few calls from just most anybody would tickle her fancy. Just remember though that if you do call, be sure to give a preamble to who you are, your relationship to me, and so forth. She lives in a smallish room now and at the tender mercies age of 89 does not see much of the world anymore.
Enough on this............ I am now off to ramble through the rest of the forum and see if I can poke some good natured fun else where on here.
Hey John,
Good to see you posting and that your injuries have neither affected your sense of humour or your good use of the English language.
Welcome back!!!

Have you always been one of us 4:00am people? I have found that by 6:30am I have had a pot of coffee by myself and have normally gotten a little work down. No phones ringing, nobody to bother me. Just me, one of my dogs and the acad program.
I'm glad to see that even with your aches and pains that the sense of humor is coming back fast. Hang in there and and no time you be on top of your game again!

Well, kind of yes and sort of no. Most of my working life, I have enjoyed the privilege of coming in early and leaving in mid afternoon.
The last 10 years my work-a-day schedule has been arrive at office 0545 to be "on shift" at 0600. an hour off at 1200-1300 for lunch and then lock the doors at 1500 to go home.
As such, of the last year of so, I seem to wake up around 0330 or a tad bit later and start the gl1500 at about 0520 allowing it to warm up while I am pulling on all the safety gear that I declare minimum requirements for highway use.
I am very proud to admit that I did indeed take the full required time to dress up before starting my trip home from work on the evening of January 10th. Leave the office at 1500 hrs and slide under a big truck at 1505 hrs.
The Lord above has many things in mind for me to repair before I leave this world. That can be the only reason that I not only survived the 65 mph slide under a moving truck, but have pulled out of the coma and have re-entered the world with a vengeance to do what I need to do.
Time for me to start sleuthing around the rest of the forum. Night all!

Don't mean to get too far off-topic, but drop me a line as this develops. The wife has always wanted a trp to the Grand Canyon, and I'm always up for a trip on the wing, so we could combine the two.

hparsons, I do not know if the time frame is a go or just a "wish I could go". But I like the idea and I will posting my status almost daily here on this thread.
As of this moment I am setting up in a chair and using a hotel's ironing board as my "new desk". It has a laptop computer set up on it, and that computer has been plugged into the hotel's internet portal for free and provided by the management in recognition of my needs. Hip hip hooray for those folks.
I will continue to update the forum as to :
status
where
how
physical condition
pictures and/or movies of my progress.
I have my camera with me now. I am reacquainting myself with how it works. I figured out the movies part already. It is fully auto in every other areana.
I am returning to the world to have fun and improve my life.
Hello World!!!

For years I got up early and went to work on a tomato farm. Then after some changes in my life, I started working for myself at home. The trip to the office at 4:00 to 4:30 is just walking to the next door.
The time I've got with Nancy now is wonderful, but when it gets slow the pay is terrible.
Overall it's a good life.
It's great to see you returning back to us as you use to be! Keep on healing.
