On the way home from work tonite, I got to thinking about how close John came to the "edge". As close as a person can get and yet not go over the edge.
I, too, have been there. Because of that I am feeling almost overcome with gratitude that it appears that he is going to be ok.
I cannot imagine how it would feel to lose any member of this board.
Come home, soon, John. It will be a great day when you post again....

Spoke to our friend this eve, all is well as can be expected. Told him I used to be a paramecic in Maricopa county Az., and the trauma centers there are second to none. Nice to hear such a kind voice on the other end for sure. No plans for riding right now, needs peace and quiet and has no plans for a new ride. John is our miracle boy, for sure.Jim

I just got off the phone with john ( 7:45 pm ) He sounded good and he is doing well , and hopes to go home by Friday .
He wanted me to tell all of you that he is very Grateful for all the support from everyone and is Totally Overwhelmed with all the well wishers from the Saunders Goldwing Forum. John is really truly amazed at all the people who have contacted him to wish him well , So give him a call if you can, It doesn't matter if you know john personally or not. He enjoys hearing from everyone. Take Care - Jim

For all the UK members who might want to send a text or phone John, you need the code of 001 before the number. This will save you scrabbling about in the phone book or googling it!!!
Don't forget the time difference. I am not sure exactly for where he is, but a safe assumtion would be somewhere around 7-8 hours behind us I think.

I talked to John last night, he really appreciates all the calls and such, and cannot believe the support he is recieving from members of this forum all over the world. The doctor has told him that from now on he would have to be careful, that one fall with a bump to the head could finish him off. He is thinking it is time to consider a trike, because he said he isn't giving up riding. My hat is off to him, most riders would give up riding after such a terrible accident, he is wanting to get back on the road. He is definately in our prayers. Apparently, from what it sounded like in the background, he has a lot of visitors too, which is good. let's all wish him a speedy recovery.

What a thing to have happen, His guardian angel was really on the ball. The "what if's" in a situation like this are endless. I'm just glad he going to be able to go home soon.
If the helmet shattered and he is going to OK, well..........there ain't a whole lot more to say.

I think his recovery may be slowed down a little due to him having to send the Doctors away every time they come to see him, because he is taking important calls from all over the world!!! he even asked his doctor to come back in a while when I was on the phone to him!!!!
Doc-"hi John, we have come to do some really important medical procceedure on you"
John- "yes thank you, but could you come back later please, only I am talking to Silverfox in England?"
Doc- " of course John, If we had known that you were talking to Silverfox, we wouldn't have troubled you!!!"

Extremely funny Silverfox.
I didn't want to disturb John's recovery so I just left a text message instead.
