Sure is great to have you back on the web John.  Sorry to hear M/C's are out but like you say there are always trikes.  It is just great that you were not more seriously injured.  You take care and don't lose the faith.:waving::waving::waving::waving::waving::waving::waving:

Folks, my boss just brought me this laptop and a get well quick card. the card is filled with over a hundred bucks of store cards :shock:

doc says I am off work until March at the earliest  with even that being a tentative date.

My knock on the head means I will now be wearing a permanent head protection for the rest of my life. :?

doc says another blow to that area will put out my lights permently :P

m/c's are out for now, Trikes in the future with careful attention to details and protection.

no details on accident from me, I don't know more than what the web sites from news areas are saysing, I don't remember anything about the accident anyway. My first memory is yesterday morning and that's a lot of days lost to a black world...

John, its so good to have you back with us:cooler::cooler::cooler:

As for the memory, perhaps is best for now that you dont have those memories.  Maybe someday I will tell you why I think this way.

I am soo happy you are back with us! YAY!!!!!:cooler::banana:

Good to hear you made it,  not many get that close and have a chance to come back.

No expert but would suggest you ready yourself in the event your memory returns, it can be quite a shock. I had funny dreams that turned to nightmares a little bit after my accident and they still come and go, REAL bed wet-ers.

I had a real strong desire to get back on the horse. Be able to ride before you sit back on a bike, I have lost more than one friend that saddled back up too soon.

Be patient with your bodies recovery and keep positive thoughts.

The hard part is to come, it may be a year or two before the scarring and bruising really come out and let you know when it is going to rain or snow.

I’m kind of curios about the head gear are you going to be sporting, something like a blow up butt donut like a slip on inter-tube?

How many people wanted to touch the soft spot so far?

Just kidding, think about it most with severe head injuries can't get it.

 Get well :byebye:

John- I lived up in Prescott, from 1979 until spring of 1991, and I got in a wreck that nearly got me killed, and destroyed my beloved 1976 GL1000.  Some really top-notch paramedics, and a couple of good surgeons (fairly-priced for their work, I might add) saved MY sorry ass!

I made a stupid youthful mistake in 1984; it sounds like you got caught between a "rock and a hard place".  I, too, can't remember the actual event....I'm crap as a Christian, but a firm believer in God (how else to explain the "miracle" of all my great friends?)

I think God took pity on me....."Pete, you really don't want to remember these 8 hours of your life, so....I'm gonna cut you some slack".  Thanks, God; you're ok in my book.

I hope you recover quickly John, and keep on dreaming.....I'm a convert now, (thanks, Christine! And you too, Bikerfred! ) so if I meet you on a Trike someday, I'll be delighted to ride with you, anywhere you like!

Take care John, and get better soon....glad you're still with us all! :clapper:

It is good seeing you posting again. I too hate to hear that the M/C's are going to be out for now. Like others have said a trike is a good substitute, you would still have the wind in your face. Best to just take one day at a  time and when the time is right you'll know what is best for you. Till then ride the forum and see how fast you can pass Exavid's post count!!!

Glad that your back on-line John.  Just take it easy, and do what the doctor says for now.  We can all worry about what you will be riding later, as long as it isn't a hearse!  Take care my friend.:D

Trike's not such a bad thing, there's one in my future for sure.

Heck, maybe this bonk on the noggin will give you Super Guru Powers:weightlifter:, and you'll come up with a new add on for the Wings that can tell the future! Well, maybe just a power steering innovation for trikes, so you don't have to muscle the steering so much...:cooler:

In the mean time, rest up and get better. And stay off those "interesting" websites, remember it's your boss's computer you're using (unless you have a Linux Live CD you can use, Taffy will be back soon to send you one...) Hey, maybe he'll send up some of his nurses for ya!

Glad you're back, we're all pulling for ya. When you get ready for a trike, I bet there's a bunch of parts floating around, if you decide to build.

Just got off the horn with John. He sounds better today than yesterday and is expecting to check out of the hospital tomorrow morning. Already discussing the advantages of a trike or Insta-trike or the landing gear type of rig.

His doctor tells him he's making a better recovery that expected and apparently changed the recommendation that he'd need to wear a helmet and stay off bikes for the rest of his days, that's certainly good news.

I suspect the folks at the hospital think they've got an important diplomat in their care due to the world wide phone calls that have come in for him. As well they should, they do have an important  'Wing diplomat in their midst. Sure is good to hear he's coming along well.

He got a laptop yesterday, that's what he was posting with but the thing packed it in last night, wireless wouldn't link up. He's hoping to get back on soon so he can defend himself on the forum.
