I just talked to John on the phone.

He sounds pretty good and giving the doc's and nurses hell.
I could hear John tell the nurse, "just put it over there, if I want to read it I know where it is" lol
I told him it sounds like he could really use one of the above nurses right now!
It feels good that I made him laugh.

John is a great guy. I rode with him on the AZ meet and greet.

I think back how he took one rider under his wing and stayed with him to be sure he made it home ok.

My brother had the rented 1800, him and John swapped bikes for a good part of the day.
I commend John for how welcome and friendly he treated my brother, like a brother.
It sure made his day.

John told me he'll be posting some pics soon. I'm looking forward to seeing them.

He said his protective gear saved his life, I for one will be going shopping this weekend for my son and I.

HOLY SMOKES, Leave the forum for a few days, and wow, John, Hope you get better soon, I also rode with John on the AZ ride, and without him, there would have been a whole lot less video taken of us all. Get it shiney side up again, and STAY AWAY FROM SEMI'S

Man! I keep telling everbody I don't need any company in convalessing. I do a kickstand and curb bit, pick me up a busted collar bone and here it goes. Durn Penske trucks should stay on the race track. Hoggy to, wouldn't even share the retaining wall. Should be a few choice words for both the car and truck driver. OK!

John I've been reading your progress and you are in the prayers and thoughts of this wonderful group. Your family is included in these also. You my friend, certainly have been blessed. The Doctors and staff get a big thank you from me. Someday you will miss some of the spots that felt so good when massaged lightly or scratched gently. Maybe some of them won't ever go away in this life time but Faith will support you and give you the strength------God Bless - Keno (aka) Ken Baker.

Looking forward to seeing you back at home and posting in the HELP ME section.

Hey guys..... Look what a deal Penske made for my son.  Was delivered to his shop this morning.

Is there the smell of funny odors  going on here??

Glad to see you back.... and it does have a dull "ring" to it... maybe even a "thud"... but at this point, I'd hope that it is just a concerned gesture of sorrow.. kinda like the a misguided male version of taking a neighbor a meal when you squashed their cat..... and it would be great to see you at the rally (NASSAR 1) at Cyote61's ranch in late September...even if you weren't riding, it would be great if you were there... SDB/Jim

So why the hell would Penske deliver a tool chest?

Is that suppose to make you feel better or something?

Go for the throat John!

Is if full of tools? :D  Funny thing, that's almost identical to my box.  Mine's 25 years old though.  I'd take a picture but I can hardly get to it right now my garage is so packed. :gunhead:  I still have room for my Wing though.:dude:

Glad your sense of humor is intact too Bud.

If this is the same Penske that owns the Nascar teams, I believe he can do a little better than that!! I'd definitly let a lawyer know about it!!!

Okay :waving::waving:, it is time for Cautious John to fess up a tiny bit :cheeky1:....(the new name I told my Case Manager that I was taking on- Instead of my givenname of John Thomas, I am now signing everything "Cautious John" :action::action:

The toolbox is for real.  The story about Penske is only partially correct though.  he bought the box off of his Snapon Tool Route sales guy yesterday and it was dropped off today.  And it did come from a mechanic over at a Penske shop who over extended his ability to pay for things.  And, yes, it is 25 years old with no tools. My son PJ bought it to give to my wife's son who is retiring from Prison Life in October of this year (served 16 years for joint possession). The Parole Board will not release him unless he already has a car (I have given him my '72 Impala) and my son is donating that tool box fully loaded with tools so the boy (now 44 y/o) can get a job within a couple of days of release. Typical Parole Board shit, he has to have a steady job for 'x' days with no BS claims against him before they exonerate him totally with no incumberances.

Okay here it is guys.   Did olde Guru AZgl1500 manage to return to form and get you guys to take it "hook line and sinker?"  Hope so....:cooldevil:

Forgot to say I have already entered that into my calendar.  Probably take an airplane and require a Designated Driver to get me to the rally though. ;)

Just saw this thread and all I can say is WOW John! The good lord was watching over you... all the best for a speedy recovery and filling up the piggy bank!

Did you have a guardian angel bell on the bike? If so I would grab it for the next ride even if it is a trike.
