Well it kind of goes this way.
I have a sister by the name of Josie who is a professional horse trainer, lives on her digs about 20 miles/minutes south of Price, Utah.
As I am typing this, she and her husband (Greg) are driving down from Page, AZ where they overnighted to pick me up and help me get out of this hospital. Tomorrow morning, a Sabbath day I am told, we are going to start the long drive from Mesa, Arizona to Cleveland, Utah.
Josie and Greg have offered their hospitality and her professional services to help me recover from this traumatic experience.
I do not suggest to anyone, anywhere, to ever pick a fight with a Kenworth bobtail tractor rig. They are going to win, you are going to loose.
But once, back on the horsey country from whence I came 60+ years ago, I want to smell "the air", feel "the freshness" and just soak in the grandness of being alive and able to repair the many miscues of my past life.
I am being offered a chance to put my life and family back together again. Certain of you are privileged to some of my past hidden secrets, but to others, just accept that I am going to be a "made again family man" and believer that yes, there is a God up there who does indeed watch over his flock.

Being a professional truck driver and a wing rider, this accident caught my attention.
Are you sure that Penske was operating the truck? Companies lease equipment from Penske so even thou it says Penske on the door, Penske might have not been operating the truck.
If the tool box came from the company that leased the truck then I'd have a funny feeling.

You have my promise on that Dick. Starting on Monday, I will take some videos with my camera of the ranch property and the surrounding environment that I will be relishing in for the next 8 weeks.
Also Will have my sister take some still photos of the "coup de grace" that the Penske driver applied to my head. It is not a pretty thing, but I am doing it to enforce my continuing message to all of my flock here that you just simply must wear a helmet. I have here a deposition from a DPS officer stating that I would not have survived if the helmet had not protected my noggin. http://tinyurl.com/ytlcg4

The helmet design could have been better. I opted for the HJC flip front model which also has a flip up clear visor to allow air in to demist the visor.

I got used to wearing a helmet while in the Air Force, along with seat belts. It was mandatory to wear them on base. I agree, they get hot in the summer and heavy after a while of riding, but after I had my bike wreck in '85 and the first thing that hit the asphalt was the front shield of my full face helmet, I will NEVER ride a bike without one! My wife wears an open front, but I think that is soon to change to a full face. She's not going to like it...but its gonna happen!
You take care of yourself and our prayers are with you in your healing!

I just found out the Blarney Master is still very much alive!!
REDWING just gave me a telephone call and we had a wonderful visit. But, egad, what a start to the conversation.
He kept telling me that he t weren't going to talk to me unless I could tell him who he was??
Well, he kept me spinning verbal nothings for a bit by making talk about his accent being from "England", no that won't do, so I tried "Ireland", and that won't do either
Finally he mentions have you ever heard of Redwing?, to which I replied you are the old man from Wales with the Honda 50
God Bless you Redwing. It really thrilled me to hear your real voice and try to put it together with you pen name. I do have to explain for you though , since you haven't read the thread yet, I am suffering from a very bad case of tinnitus and head congestion which has almost ruined my hearing. The doctors report that it will one day all heal up back to normal, Lordy do I hope so!!! I am so tired to trying to hear a voice on the phone and having to keep moving that cellphone around until the ear piece is just exactly right to sound off into my ear canal.
Redwing thought I was putting him off..... some of that was he had just caught me about two minutes after dropping off to sleep with the cellphone behind my head. When I heard it ring, I "bounced up" and turned to get it........wrong maneuver John, now your head is a twirling dervish and the signals are all a mess. Finally though, we got our signals on the same plain and all is now great.
I just simply cannot get over how much the support has been for me in this incident. Only one second separated me from life or death, and it has been a long ordeal getting back from death's door to the land of the living.

What an honor AZ1500! REDWING! Himself! I hope this satisfies those on the forum who doubt he really exists. Unbelievers!

I wish AZ had time to get a recorder going... A tape of Redwing talking could be as rare as footage of Sasquatch in the woods

It was great talking with you today John. Even with the new dent in your head, I'm sure your face still looks as friendly as the last time I saw you.
I have had the good fortune to ride with AZgl1500 and I have to tell everyone on this forum that he (John) handled that 1500 through the twisties of San Diego like a real pro. It was obvious watching him ride that he's had years of experience riding a motorcycle, so if something like this can happen to him, it could happen to anyone. I doubt there are many people to have tangled with a semi and lived to tell about it.
I was impressed with this artists 3D painting on the bus. I would like to track him down and have AZgl1500 painted on a Penske truck. I was relieved to hear your sense of humor coming through on our conversation John.
