Ok.So I went to buy a BBQ last year when my wife spotted an 85 LTD..needless to say, I still have the same BBQ. Today she went to pic up the new helmet she ordered, spotted a 91 Interstate anniversary edition. She has her helmet and I have a new ride. Seems allright though. ,63000 km(40000miles)not beat up and all looks , runs and rides nice, Like the 6 cyl compared to the 4 on my 85. Anything to look for or things I should see about getting looked at? The dealer said the po had all the service work done there, so they know the bike, and from what I can tell, if appearance means much , all should be well.

Congratulations!

I'd check all fluids and timing belts (if you don't know if they've been changed).

Any other problem should make itself obvious.

Make sure the sub-filter and cruise filters have been done.Even the dealers seem to forget about servicing these from what I've seen.My bike was serviced regularly by one of the bigger Wing dealers in this area and mine weren't done.Did them myself recently and they were on the verge of breaking down into dust.

Myself, I replace the tires/brake pads on any bike, regardless of how they look.

I assume tires have wallopped a chuck hole & has bad sidewalls.

Brakes because their cheap when wheels are off, anyway.

If a part fails, you're stranded...If a tire fails you're dead.

Then, I do fluids/filters & add lights for visibility.
