I have been seeing more and more of our people going on trips and when someone knows they are coming near they give them info to meet. Well, what we need is our very own GOLD book. Any of the members that are willing to meet, ride with or help our other forum members when they are away from home. It could be a PDF or a text file only available to the members. It could have addresses, phone numbers and what services offered. Kind of like an expanded one that sandiegobrass has made for NASSIR 1. That way we could download it and print it out just before a trip. Or a couple volunteers could have the info and in case of an emergency call them and get a friend's number close to where you are. I would be willing to help a stranded member or even give them a night's rest and a meal in my home or let them camp in the back yard for the night.
WHAT SAYETH YOU?

I'm in..
I know there has been several through our area, and if you are on I-459 at the I-59/I-20S interchange, I'm about 2 miles from there. It would be nice to have an emergency contact if needed.

Count me in too D-Rod. The Gold book is okay, but I have heard several complaints that it has not worked out too good for some. Things like the offers of help being restricted to only 5 miles or some such.
I think the kind of folks we have on this forum are a much higher class and are willing to help, not just use the word 'help'.
Me, I am willing to drive a 100 miles or more to get one of our guys out of a lurch. I should think that if I all got in return was some fuel for the truck, it would be a super deal for me.
I have extra room at the house and could put folks up for a night to save them a hotel payment.
Having Ulster over a couple of weeks ago was one of my life's high moments. Meeting high class folks just can't be measured with a long enough yard stick.

I have entertained motorcyclists from as far away as Australia. I cant give a "service radius", that would depend very much on my situation at the time!
I am "the keeper" of personal info on another board, and think that keeping the list private is a good thing. Perhaps some trusted member could be the storehouse, and traveling Wingers could contact that trusted member in advance to get contacts along his planned route of travel.

Myself & another member tried to meet up with a member passing through, but the weather made a nasty turn & he had to bolt.
However, he had both our cell #s before leaving.
I'd be glad to help anyone coming near Topeka & we have a sub-group of members around much of the state that I KNOW would be VERY helpful.
I have a Gold Book, but never tried it. This site could benefit from some type of member contact system....I'm in.

I do not have a small fancy bike trailer.....but I have a backhoe trailer and have hauled in bikes on it before many times.......I live in Lexington, South Carolina and I will come help you if you call. It may take me an hour to get organized and change directions..but I will help you out.
It would be great to have members across the United States where if someone wanted to go for a cross country ride they could hop from one members home to the other and save motel bills and the like. Make some new friends and all that kind of thing.
Sounds good to me......my house is open to anyone who would like to travel through.....and I have a six acre yard.......camping is free, but you have to mow the yard Kit

I'm good for a hundred miles or so -
Got a small pickup, but I also have a trailer, full compliment of tools if "road surgery" is in order. Air conditioned (one car) garage to work in if we get it back here.
Southern Tier (Binghamton area) NY, right where I81, I88, and NY17 come together.
I'm certainly not looking for excuses to go fro a 200 mile drive, but if a board member was truly in need, I'd be on the way.
