I don't think we need an Irish symbol or flag on the pin. Much as I like waving the flag, the forum is an international one and the pin should reflect this. Patch's forum patches are a good example of a design that appeals to most people.
Someone mentioned above that we need to know the pin size before starting any graphics. That's a very valid point and I'll ask for opinions about this over the weekend in Wales.

I have to agree with that. Probably no harm having a bit of green included though.

I had thought the outline of a wing would be nice except there are several models to choose from, and then theres that color thing . Something like the patch would be nice.

| I couldn't figure how to complete my message after attaching the picture. I intended to add that a similar amout of text in that ratio-available space might need a pin of 1.5 inches minimum. Last edited on Tue Jul 29th, 2008 07:28 pm by GWEddie

I think that the patch design that Patch has done is great. Make the pins in the same design (maybe offer different colors like the patches) and have hanger bars as 82gl1100iwingman metioned. Not having to replace pins, just status bars as you progress. I also think that maybe $6 a pin/bar combo to start with and as you move up, then charge $3 for the bars. The left over money can go into a fund as mentioned to be meted out to needy members or help defray the cost of running such a great site. Whatever is deemed necessary.
And as most would do around here, if you have moved up, say from Active Member to Very Active Member then the person who moved up can send their old bar to a member who needs one and the recieving member can donate $3 to the site for the fund.
My .02.....

How about a patch designed like a flat World Map with a marker flag at every country represented on the Forum? That would be interesting to see.
Blessings

I would be against the bar thingy hanging out of the pin/badge telling us if you were a guru or a active member etc as we are all equal here on the forums and I think the badge should be the same for everybody.
PS can I have an AXE on my badge ?

I'd like a pin for sure But it would be nice if the Goldwing wings could be incorporated into the design somehow. I'm not a designer either, but it's just a suggestion.

| Its a problem with badges that they are quite small and if you put too much info on then you cannot make it out. You can make badges any shape but not sure what the person who has offered the badges can produce and as they are free should we be asking for elaborate designs. What you could have as an alternative is the globe with the word goldwing going round it to symbolise goldwings around the world.

I like the idea as well, but I am not quite here a year. Hopefully you will wave that. I would hate to be left out since I am an early joiner.
I would like to see it as a universal design, and if you want hangers, let it be a showing your location, not how many posts you make.
Putting points on a map would get too cluttered since there are members everywhere

Hey mi2az I dont know what management will do with you
You are a member here just over three months and you only have 25 posts to your credit so you are obviously not working hard enough
If you give an undertaken that you will work harder and post more often
then I think you have a good chance of getting a Pin/Badge
