Depending on how far you lean over in the curves, the 1500 will handle it all surprisingly well.

We don't know how you ride but mountains, curves, freeways and traffic won't bother it.

It is heavy but very nimble once you get the right tires on it and the forks are tight. Just a matter of getting used to it like all things.

Hi there Fabrizio and welcome to the board.

The gl1200 is better than the gl1100 in the curves, but I'd be the first to admit the gl1500 does it better and the gl1800 even better again. I did Switzerland, Austria and Italy in 2005 on ly gl1200 and I found the tighter roads a challenge, but I was still able to keep up with the guys on BMWs and Pan Europeans.

Welcome to the forum Fabrizio. I ride a GL1500, and while the hills I climb are not the Alps, I have gone up and down several steep grades and curves here in the Black Hills of South Dakota. I have not had any problems with the bike even riding 2 up. I do not ride agressively, but at the posted speed limit (and occasionally slightly above:cooldevil:) the bike handles like a dream. With time you will get used to the bike and be surprised by what she will do.

Might want to test drive it first before committing to the purchase. It's a large bike and won't weave around quite as well as say...a Pan European (which I have).

My new-to-me 83 GL1100 handles curves pretty well but I was scraping a LOT in corners and really didn't have much lean going on. A guy behind me commented I was making contact with the exhaust pipes quite a bit.

Hi Ozzyn , thank you for your help! Have you experimented some turbolences or head buffeting at hight speeds (80-90 mph)? And is it a protective bike for riding in cold weather , mid 30 or 40 F, ?

Thanks again:waving:

I have not had the bike up over 80 mph. I just haven't had the need or desire. As far as cold weather it isn't too bad. I have a set of wind wings on her that helps to keep the cold air off and it is an SE model with the foot warmers which make a difference. Good riding gear like insulated gloves, good leathers, and boots make a huge difference.

Hope this helps.
