Welcome to the forum Fred. Please insert your location in your profile as we are a truly international forum. For pegs and back rest, try http://www.cyclemaxohio.com They are highly recomended by many members of this forum including me. I reckon you want Kuryakyn ISO pegs and the backrest is your choice, some fit around the saddle and some fit through the saddle. I have the fit round type - I believe the fit through type are better, but they require you to make the leap of faith as you start cutting holes in your OEM saddle to fit them.

I reccommend the Utopia backrest. It goes through the saddle so less bars in the way of pillion legs and less chrome to rot.

The fit through Utopia backrest is the absolute best back rest on the market. I eagerly await the arrival of mine. I have tried several others......and they all hurt or cause discomfort in some way to the passenger on longer rides. Installation and cutting the seat back to install is not a big deal......even with the heated seats....you can see the wires on the bottom of the seat....so I have finally ordered one for myself. For footpegs and floorboards and highway pegs.......I would also agree that Kuryakyn products are the best......no I do not own stock in the company......it has just became very evident, they are the best.....have the best chrome and the best selection and tend to fit and work with no problems. Yep they cost a bit more too.....but some of the other ones.....especially heel/toe shift....do require some modification with a pocket knife on the road.......sometimes..... The largest selection of this kind of thing can be found at wingstuff.com. Kit

A crotch rocket with storage bags.............As for oil I use the slick kind, and I like round tires, but as of late I have found square ones work best on the rear. welcome Fred. Glad to decided to stop lurking and join us. There is a lot of invaluable information available here as well as lots of free advice. I intalled a utopia backrest on my 1500. Now, I'm to most technically challenged person you may ever meet but the installation took me arount 30 minutes so it's gotta be easy. Great product.

Have to disagree on the quality of the chrome Kit - it just isn't made to handle being outside. I have to replace my footpegs every year. Shame because the actual design and look is excellent.
